502y 0849 derby Litchurch Lane to oxley Depot today saw 37884 cepheus on other duties with 57312 taking 730006 to oxley for testing.
730006 is now at oxley.

Having finally got round to checking out the NRC for WMT, seems the lease end date for the 350/2 is April 2023 so I would assume that the current planned entry date for the 730/1&2s will be May timetable change. Fingers crossed no more delays!

Have they been tested on the mainline yet? Thinking one maybe has but not 100% sure.

Yes nuneaton to crewe quite often by rail operations group drivers with 730005 being a reqular. And still is.
730101 and 730103 was also used but only until early January 2022..
Which have both recently returned to old dalby .

730/0's to enter service with LNR by the end of the year, a temporary measure to replace 319 units which are leaving the fleet by January. A rumour that two 730 units will be at Bletchley in the next week or two.

There's 4 units ready to be used for training, unsure where they are being kept currently but Bletchley would be a useful place as they will, as you say, replace 319s next year. No date was given by fleet in their update yesterday

Out of interest what services will they appear on please. Will it be something on the Birmingham/Northampton to London circuit. Obviously a 730 at London euston in West Midlands Livery would look good to get.
However could it possible. Just possible that the 319 due to 730 replacement taking place. End before the December 2022 timetable change?

too early to say but heard they are restricted to 90mph so likely to be almost exclusively Tring-Euston services

Trings and MKCs will generally be 3+2 seated 730s, yes. 350s on the Crewes and some of the Brums. 2+2 seated 730s for the Liverpool-Brum and potentially some of the Euston-Brums.

Unless they draft a 730/0 on there? Heard that there are too many for use in the West Midlands alone, so that could be an option for the surplus units.

It can't be totally random as you'd end up with incompatible units rocking up at Northampton to couple. I do however entirely expect the 5 car 2+2 and 3+2 730s to end up mixed up.

Thanks. I still had it in my head that they were "tube style" metro seating, especially for the wedged out Cross City commuters !!

Well they are replacing the 319s so Euston to Tring services mostly with some also going to MKC. We're now getting regular updates from fleet so hopefully dates will be announced soon for introduction but these could always slip.

Yeah sounds similar to what is being hinted at internally. I would class these dates as the 'aim' currently, certainly no more than penciled in

December 2022 for LNR seems unlikely… haven’t had any activity on the Mainline like the WMR examples…
