But taking the role of conductor, I actually initially am taking a 7K pay cut during my training period. I’ve been offered zero hours contract with a job I did years ago. Service station, very basic, non taxing work.
Do people think I’d be able to do all the training required for the conductor role whilst working part time?
I notice my initial work schedule for GWR is Monday-Friday 9-4 pretty much so I’d definitely have time to top up the salary but it’s just very much dependant on how much I have to learn away from training school?
I also want to know if GWR would allow me to undertake the extra work? It says in contract, you must discuss with line manager, what are the odds of them actually even approving me to work elsewhere for up to 10 hours a week?
