I am going to Nottingham for the first time in years on Wednesday and I want to go from the station platforms to the tram stop.
Will I need to exit the front of the station and walk down Station st, or is there a connecting platform footbridge direct to the tram stop?
TIA

There is a connection from the platform overbridge to the trams.

There are two ways to get from the station to the tram stop. The footbridge part way along the platforms has steps up to the tram stop at the North (station road end) without exiting the station. From the concourse there is a new part of the station buildings at the south (queens road end) and turning left and left again from the concourse this takes you to an escalator up to the tram stop. This is through the gateline but not onto the street.

The best way is to is walk along the tram bridge to the steps down to the station footbridge which will take you straight to the platforms

If it’s any help PlusBus is also valid throughout the Tram network in Nottingham.

And a final bit that straddles the line between helpful tip and trivia:

If you're starting from the western end of platform 6, you are basically underneath the tram stop. In this case it's probably quicker to go to the tram stop via the station than it is to go along the platform to the footbridge, all the way along it then all the way back down the tram bridge to the stop.

I don’t think it reaches as far as Hucknall though…?
You are correct Plusbus does not reach Hucknall. It actually states on the Plusbus website that it is only valid as far as the Moor Bridge tram stop. The current reduced EMR timetable on the Robin Hood Line also results in trains to Hucknall being only hourly with very poor connections in Nottingham.

I had completely forgotten about the steps at the Station Street end of the platform overbridge. I’ve not used it for years.

Ahh yes, just seen it only goes as far North as Moor Bridge. I don’t recall getting off unless I just used the Robin Hood Line with my BR boxes.
