Hello all
I received warning letter from TFL because I use freedom oyster card by mistake.

TFL mentioned in the email "I have taken into consideration all the facts of this case and the public interest
and have decided on this occasion, and without creating a precedent, to dispose of this matter by means of a warning.
Although this warning is not a criminal conviction Transport for London will retain a record and it will be taken into account in any decision to bring a criminal prosecution against you, should you be reported for a similar offence within the next 12 months."

Does this warning letter affect my citizenship application?
Does any one had the same letter and affect citizenship application or not??

None of us are qualified to comment on a citizenship application, but a warning from TfL is not recordable in any publicly accessible record.

If you’re applying to be a citizen here though, don’t commit crime. You are extremely lucky to have not been prosecuted in court. Extremely.

If you use the railway here frequently you will quickly learn that making a genuine mistake often makes little difference to the outcome. You are very lucky here.

I do not know if this warning recorded on police National Computer (PNC) or DBS.

As I already said, it will not be recorded on the PNC and as @skyhigh says above, it will not show on DBS checks.

TfL considers the matter closed by issuing you a written warning.

Yes, I will not do that again, but I use it by mistake ☹.
TfL rarely believes this to be honest so I would say you are indeed incredibly fortunate that they have chosen to dispense by warning only. Freedom passes look very different to normal Oyster cards and you can use any contactless card to pay for travel.

No I'm not really lucky.
I used it by mistake and I explained that for TFL and they accepted and give me a warning

That is really lucky. You have no idea whatsoever.

I use it by mistake that is why they do not prosecuted, also I'm under mental health team. I suffered significant continuing psychiatric injuries impact on my ability to carry out everyday tasks in terms of focus and concentration.

Thank you. As others have written, you are fortunate, because TfL typically prosecute people who use a pass with someone else's name and photo on it.

I think we should leave the matter there.

No. As others have said, you are extremely lucky to get off with a warning, especially from TFL. Others have had to pay penalties for a lot more innocent “mistakes” than this.
Please, are you sure 100% that warning not recorded on PNC or any DBS ? I am very worried
This will not show up on any checks, the matter is now over and TFL consider the case closed. Just do NOT come to their attention again because you absolutely will not get let off this easily a second time.

Looks like this is all cleared up so I think we’ll close the thread now.

Thanks everyone.
