Megatrain offers fares from £1, never exceeding £15 from what I can find. There is a 50p reservation fee per booking, (not per ticket).

There is a glitch that allows you to book months in advance using a certain browser and by searching in a particular manner, PM for details (trusted users only).

Anyway, I have created a list (from a lot of research of what trains are classed as "Megatrain". It is not complete, but feel free to add more times:

IIRC the Liverpool-London's don't have megatrain tickets available for Crewe-London but have £1 tickets for Runcorn-Crewe.

Did Warrington to Glasgow out of the 0901 back on the 1840 back in October for the fine sum of £2 (+50p booking fee) Absolute bargain.

You have to get in early though!!

Bookings for megatrain open up around 45 days in advance so I'm not sure how you'd buy something that wasn't available for sale.

More than 45 days...

You try something then:

Choose 1 passenger, London-Liverpool, select Train, then try and select the 31 March...

You'll find you can only book up to the 5th March using the standard method...

Whereas I have clearly been able to find a very, very low price simply because other people can't find it.

The reason is that they are always available for sale for any future date, but the search function LIMITS the date range. You can get around having to use the date range given on the homepage to go to dates in the future.

If you select Travelling by = all, then you can select a date of 31 March.

A train at £3 is currently being offered.

If they do, and they're involved in the internet part of the business, and they're bothered that a small number of people are aware of a flaw on their website, and it's easy to fix, then they'll probably fix it!
