Regarding Sunday's in the working week. I'd be happy with that, if it was properly recompensed for the Sundays we are booked to work. That however, is not a payrise! My booked Sundays are worth about £12000 per year, so that needs adding to the basic salary if we do Sunday as working week. Still leaves the issue of no payrise though.....
I’d happily have Sunday in the booked working week, I’d assume they’d be pensionable ?
Like you there with about £12k the ones I’m booked to work.
People seem to think it’s the workforce who are dead against any kind of modernisation I’m all for it in moderation.
Weekly notices and general day to day paperwork on paper in 2002, have we not heard of iPads personal issue or even a iPad on each panel / workstation or signal box ? That small project could save millions across the industry.
Sunday as per of a Standard 4 day week (I already work 12hr shifts), removal of night rate but keeping RDW rate and our HROP/LROP or CL days obviously give and take.
The government doesn’t want to modernise as it’ll cost money, money they don’t want to spend but are more than happy to blame the greedy workers and nasty unions who are stuck in the 70s.
Don’t you know one driver or signaller can buy at least two nurses they cry!
Maybe if nurses had their training paid for them you might get more people enter the profession, not to mention pay them a decent salary !
