Glasses that react to sunlight

What are the rules on glasses for drivers. Can glasses have the reactalight or do you need a paid of glasses that don't go tinted in sunlight

Really? I can't tolerate those things point. In my opinion they are not a suitable substitute to the glasses provided to drivers who don't need prescription glasses. Personally I use the Specsavers 2 for 1 offer to buy decent prescription sunglasses and take the standard in to make sure they meet them.

I agree with you...I'm due an eye test so if my prescription changes I will be doing the same!

They are allowed at my TOC as long as you have your medical in them and they are happy with them. I think we might be the only TOC that does accept them though as it has been a talking point before.

You can pass the medical if you've had laser eye surgery (GWR).
A friend applied,got through every stage and couldn't find any up to date info online or on forums.He had nothing to lose by going along to medical and he declared it and was passed fit.

Ideal. I had my medical and they asked if I’d had laser eye surgery, I said no (I haven’t had it but would like to). They said I’d be signed unfit if I’d had the surgery
