Blue Pullman Mk.3 at Leamington Spa today

Hi all,

At 1415 on an xc service we passed 37688 with a mk.1 and an HST trailer in Blue Pull man livery waiting in one of the centre roads. Can anyone share any insights as to why this was there? Some sort of work needed on that one trailer?

Edit: was at Coventry at roughly 1505 as well.

It’s on its way back to Crewe from Eastleigh works. The LSL trailers are going through Eastleigh to have CET modifications done, so likely for that.

Ah ok, cheers, does that entail a reduced number of bathrooms?

Also did notice it seemed to be in cosmetically much better condition than the ex-GWR sliding door sets in Scotland and the southwest.

Indeed, it's a bespoke design that is being fitted to their Mk3s.

That reminds me a couple of trailers same livery went up Tuesday the day before and had a green staycation hst power car on the back of it and not only that at Leamington Spa station around 1305 hours it went through the centre road passing 31108 and the locomotive convoy going to Swanage on platform 3.
Making a superb locomotive scene rarely seen these days.

However 37688 performed honurs both days. But on Wednesday the staycation hst power car didn't return and remained at Eastleigh still to return in due course.

Is the 'Pullman' set now running with blue power cars at both ends? Or is one of them still undergoing repairs?

Didn't have blue power cars at both ends today when it passed through Stafford. Had Intercity swallow 43049 on rear.
