Not 100%, I'm pretty sure its just avanti thoughHow many WCML services are diverting via Kilmarnock?
Just Avanti services or TPE as well?
I think it's just that the diverts for 21/22 aren't showing on RTT yet - TPE are showing as running trains Manchester-Carlisle and buses Carlisle-Edinburgh, but the Avanti changes haven't been uploaded yet, they're still showing as WTT. Saturday 28th May looks to be WTT, and the diverts and buses are showing for Sunday 29th May.Plans must have changed as it was up to week 9 which is the 28th May.
It will be. Avanti 221's are cleared down the GSW and staff have the route knowledge. I don't believe TPE 185's are cleared (the 397's obviously can't do it!) or that TPE staff have route knowledge for the GSW, so they simply operate buses. Not 100%, I'm pretty sure its just avanti though
It's usually 3 each way, and Avanti only. I don't think TPE have the route knowledge. How many WCML services are diverting via Kilmarnock?

802s could, but not sure if they are passed for the GSW. Lack of route knowledge would require route conductors, an expense and logistics problem TPE I imagine think is better resolved by using replacement coaches. It will be. I am confident there will be opportunities to do it on other stock. Remember that TPE are starting to use 802s on the WCML from May, and there is a long Carstairs block coming up...Once the 221s go, presumably that will be the end of Avanti diversions via this route with the 805 units not expected to work to Scotland.
I am somewhat surprised that they are still running but guess that with 221s still going to Polmadie it makes sense to use them.
Basic upshot though is that if anyone wishes to do the GSW route on something other than a 156, there might not be many more opportunities.
Off topic- but please get TPE and/or Avanti to sign the Settle and Carlisle whilst they're at it as well.I am confident there will be opportunities to do it on other stock. Remember that TPE are starting to use 802s on the WCML from May, and there is a long Carstairs block coming up...
They'd need route conductors for one, and also are 802s cleared up the GSW?I am confident there will be opportunities to do it on other stock. Remember that TPE are starting to use 802s on the WCML from May, and there is a long Carstairs block coming up...
