Ex Lancaster B10M 20463 working off Preston yesterday on route 1 to Longridge. I noted it straight away due to its high backed seating.

There seemed to be a shortage of low floor double deckers as well yesterday. The 68 Blackpool had a number of Olympians and the odd B10M working it. Also route 1 Longridge was affected with Darts 34473 and 33143 on the route, the situation not helped when Enviro400 19045 decided to loose its coolant all over the stand it was parked on blocking it for about an hour.

The 167xx Olys seem to have settled down to working the 59 Blackburn/Accrington route, all using route boards in the window though 16711 does have its display stuck showing "City Centre 1".

Chorley Olys on the X61 included 16670, 16637, 16653 & 16654.

Flickr finally playing nice and I have uploaded my pictures from Lancaster onto my Flickr
Lancaster 13-01-11

47005 out on Moorclose 50 - after a day on Moorclose full of B10M's and an odd Oly, which I finally got onto! 16447 has always avoided me and finally go a ride on it today, ride was rather smooth and nippy! Engine sounded like it had a handful of loose change in it, but none the less glad I got onto it before I head back to Newcastle on Sunday!

Two childrens buggys were in the luggage area on 16447, one had its wheel trapped in the door, so the right door was half was open all the way into town and the driver couldn't be bothered sorting it!
Boy in wheelchair also had to be taken out of his wheelchair to get on/off 20962

47024 popped out onto the last 50... more than likely tonight's chosen one on Workington's Evening Services

Also, at abt 13.06 an UID MAN backing-off the Southbound stands backed into the raillings!!!

22822 on 49's this afternoon, normally worked by a Solo.

Would have been fun for you that! 20910 isn't the best of B10M's. Still find 20945, 20962 and 20994 the better ones! I'd have to say that 20945 is my favourite though now.

"Ntrthside 48"
Wonder if we'll ever see a display shown correctly on that!

Saw it this morning turning left onto Oxford Street from Vulcans Lane... it cut out on the middle of the junction. Gonzo rolled it onto Vulcans lane and got it started after a few attempts.. (with much cursing!)

14258 on 48 this morning and 16447 on short 300.

Speaking of Leyland's... how long do we think 14257, 14258 and 14234 will last at Lillyhall? I remember when we where saying that 2010 would be their last year within North West... but they're still hanging on. Surely 2011 will be their demise? Is anywhere chucking out Volys at the minute?

Things didn't exactly go to plan in 2010, mainly because of the 2009 floods.

The spare Volvos at Carlisle are short - so they're no good for Lillyhall, Morecambe or Kendal.
The idea was/is for at least one, possibly 2 or 3 to move to Barrow to replace 14266 and ease the decker spares.

As for everywhere else, we're relying on Olys coming out of Manchester.

Glad I got into it before I go

20473 was on the 1400 short 300 this afternoon, running a little late.
A flying visit through Whitehaven; 35247 on 31A, 47616 on the 1, two solos on Mirehouse 3/4 (didn't see which ones, one a KX51 the other an 04)

Where are the all ruddy solo's!

I'm thinking the Leylands could be gone soon :( but you never know, served their time well, preservation and not forgotten!

Yeah, we're still feeling the effects of the floods. Hopefully Calva bridge will re-open before too long, which will reduce the minibus PVR by 1. This should ease the traffic situation in and around Workington. Still a large number of B10's in storage at Lillyhall..... maybe they'll get used soon(ish)..... ;)

mini PVR going down by 1 should hopefully help out LF situation a little! But then again, maybe not! Solo's not being the best of things recently, neither is 34079
April service changes should be interesting :D

The rest of the N/LTN from Newcastle will be up for grabs in a few weeks when all the Enviros have entered service but again, they are not of the long variety!

When you say Enviros Lee, are you referring to the hybrids or the 14 ordinary ones that are on order?

Also, do you know anything about the E200s supposedly due for Newcastle?

BTW, welcome, and thanks for joining us! :D

The 14 normal ADL Enviros have started to arrive now, upto 5 at Walkergate depot being prepared for service. They are to be used on either service 12 (PVR 12) or service 22 (PVR 12). In turn I would imagine the arrival would displace some Volvo B10M PS and some more of the Olympians from Walkergate depot. I keep on hearing 16703 is North West bound from Stockton but AFAIK its still long term VOR.

The E200 story has went quiet, from what I gather they were to be used on services City services to replace the Alexander Dash Darts but if they are still comning I have no idea when. There is some new buses due at South Shields which are E300 from what has been said and they are due very soon.

Nice to see you on here Lee!!

Interesting that more N reg's are becoming free, not sure whether the NW are keen on taking shorts. As mentioned before shorts aren't ideal for LL, ME or KL but I'm not sure whether or not these depots will take some anyway. LL have just got some shorts in exchange for longs so...

Like Mbonwick said I think we are relying on stuff from Manchester been freed up as Tridents get painted into MB livery!

Aye, I remember that one Paul! And 50 kids is a bit conservative Gez, if it was that there'd only be a handful of standees - but there is far more!

I also remember the 155x 2A to Overton being a Solo, vice Trident. Interesting to say the least!
