Piccadilly line at Turnham Green post 22.30

Hi all - I’ve been wondering why the Piccadilly line calls at Turnham Green late in the evening. What’s the reason for this? Is it solely to get the people of Chiswick home more easily after a night in town, or does it run deeper than that?
