Does anyone have any information on the rail operations mk3 coaches and numbers please in use or in store at bicester mod Gbrf and at castle donnington.
Currently I get approximately 7 at bicester ex tfw ones ie transport for wales.
Also as well at castle donnington 5 ex tfw ones. And around 6 ex great Anglia ones.
Maybe some mk2 also around ex drs ones.
Can anyone confirm this
Especially vehicle numbers.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Many thanks for this.
Also looking like some off this vehicles to be used for the September tours to Barrow Hill.

Many thanks for that interesting piece off piece off information.
Was wondering myself what that possibility might have been today.

STP 29/03 Bicester - Newport reported elsewhere as

Thank you for the information above.
Have just captured this myself at Oxford Parkway. Sad to see them go. Heard from a good source off mine that Rail Operations group favoured the ex Greater Anglia mk3 coaches for charter use rather than the tfw ones. Especially when purchasing them soon afterwards the ex tfw ones. Then found the ex Anglia ones to be better due to catch tanks and better disabilities seating on board. Plus a recent c6 overhaul. Despite only really buying the Great Anglia ones for spares. Rather than the ex banbury commuter set due its condition.
Then discovered how better they are.

Did ROG buy any of the Anglia fleet? The active fleet has only been of the ex-Arriva/TfW fleet: 10249/259, 12176-185, 82307/308. Of those, 10249/259, 12176/180/182 remain.

Many thanks so what's left is still at Castle Donnington out off the tfw ones.
It is believed they did from my source however they did use in the main the ex Greater Anglia ones. Yes the Ex Greater Anglia ones have been active either as barrier vehicles on the Ely to Newport Simms mk3 hst coach scrap moves back in October and November 2021.
Also have been used on the real ale September charter to Barrow Hill from Derby. One special charter. Cannot remember where but in June 2021 last year. Also to Buxton as well in 2021 last year on another charter. However since the last late October 2021 scrap move from Ely to Newport when used as barriers the ex Greater Anglia ones have not been used since.

With ROG clearing out its hauled stock I wonder if we will see the five 360/2s head for the scrapyard fairly soon as well. It isn't as if they have any use for them and they will only be deteriorating in storage.

I fully expect that those units are a 100% liability. Their last couple of years in service were rather threadbare to say the least; it would require deep pockets to wrangle much else from the weeny fleet.

Yes, ROG has used some ex Greater Anglia ones on charters, but they don't belong to them.

I also have listed 10406, 11092, 11093, 11099 and 11101 as with ROG, stored at Castle Donington.

Have these already gone?

Thank you.

Can I check therefore:
  • Who do they belong to?
  • Are they stored at Castle Donnington?

Thanks
I believe they are still at Castle Donnington. But haven't moved since around early November 2021.
When either in charter use or for hst barrier vehicle scrap move use. Ie Ely to Newport. Don't know the owners. However only retro rail tours used them during 2021. But only for a very few if any railtours.

12125 12154 also should be there because those two was on the September 2022. Rail ale train.
Also above two was on the October and early November 2021, hst scrap moves as barriers and in early September 2021 moved 769936 from Burton to Wolverton
