Hi, does anyone know of any maps that show junctions names or areas? Google maps shows the railway tracks but no names to do a search on Realtime trains website.
Saw a heritage train (2 x class 47's either end in blue livery with blue/white coaches) yesterday (13.30ish) in between Ravensthorpe and Horbury junction, looked on Railtour and realtime trains websites but can't see any info. I see a few heritage trains around their but don't know the correct location/area name.

Railmaps online includes junction names. Also includes disused lines:
You have to select labels on the features selection on the layer tab.

In terms of your specific query, it looks to be this train, that I found by searching for Horbury Jn. on RealTimeTrains. As the service didn’t pass through Ravensthorpe station (rather behind it), if you were searching for that specifically, that would be why you couldn’t see it.

I think you missed out the link to the train?

Correct - the only 'mandatory' reporting locations between Mirfield and Wakefield Kirkgate are Thornhill L.N.W. Jn. and Horbury Jn

Do they still print the UK Rail Atlas?

There's certainly the "Rail Atlas of Great Britain and Ireland" by the late S.K. Baker, which I believe is into its 15th edition, and "TRACKatlas of Mainland Britain", now into its 3rd edition. Both should still be readily available.

As should the variously-revised (regional) "Quail" Trackmaps (Railway Track Diagrams) booklets.

I still use my 1978 second edition to record the lines over which I've travelled, unsurprisingly including quite a number which no longer exist.

Open Railway Map shows most junction names, if you zoom in far enough.

That map is brilliant, just what i was looking for, even shows the settlement tanks on the sewage treatment works that i see trains from!
Thanks for everyone's replies, much appreciated, i do like to see a heritage train pass by when i'm at work, flying scotsman went past last year.
