Hello all, from September I'm most likely going to be commuting between Prittlewell and Colchester. I will be catching the 07.23 from Prittlewell most days, and I will be returning at various times depending on my finishing times. What I wanted to know is, if you can get a Weekly/Monthly ticket between the two, what will be the price of a Weekly and a Monthly ticket between these two places, as it only lists Liverpool Street prices on the NXEA website. Also will a 16-25 railcard be valid? Because a daily return with a Railcard is 15 pound. Thanks in advance. :)

Will you be working Mondays-Fridays?

There is a season ticket calculator here:
http://ojp.nationalrail.co.uk/en/s/seasonticket/calculator

There are no discounts for Railcards on Season tickets.

For example if you wanted a season to start tomorrow (10th Jan) and finish on Friday 10th Feb (ie, 1 month 1 day) to last you 5 weeks, the cost would be £333.50. Assuming a 5-day week this works out at £13.34 per day.

This is a lot cheaper than 5 x 1 week tickets @ £84.00 each totalling £420 for 5 weeks of travel (this would be £16.80 per day, which is more than the cost of daily tickets at £14.50 per day)

Unless you want the season for leisure purposes, try to get the season to end on a Friday unless the Friday is a bank holiday (e.g. at Easter) or you are taking some time off. Also make the season start on a Monday unless it's a bank holiday, etc...

That was quick! and yeah, Monday-Fridays, although its not work, its for College. :) And this calculator, will it show non-London fares? :)

Just used the calculator, turns out it'll be almost a tenner more than getting a daily ticket with Railcard discount. Thanks for your help. :)
Just saw your edited post. Yeah, I will only get a Monthly Ticket when my terms long enough to warrant one, otherwise it looks its daily tickets for me. :)

The route between Prittlewell & Colchester is "Any Permitted" and this is not permitted to double back between Shenfield and London.

If you wish to go to London, you need a Shenfield - London ticket, a return is between £6.55 and £12.00 depending on time of day. The train does not need to call at Shenfield. (Your season plus a Shenfield-London is valid on a non-stop Colchester to London train)
