The beardy guy in the HeyCar ad seems to be miming the lyrics to "Good Feeling" (2011 song by the artiste known as 'Flo Rida').

"Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, sometimes I get a good feeling, yeah;
I get a feeling that I never never never never had before, no no;
I get a good feeling, yeah;
Oh oh, sometimes I get a good feeling, yeah;
I get a feeling that I never never never never had before, no no;
I get a good feeling, yeah.

"Yes I can, doubt better leave, I'm running with this plan;
Pull me, grab me, crabs in the bucket can't have me;
I'll be the president one day;
January first, oh, you like that gossip;
Like you the one drinking what God sip dot com;
Now I gotta work with your tongue."

Well, I am sure these words will do a marvellous job of explaining what Hey Car actually market... :D

The Nationwide Building Society adverts with the modern poetry. The latest one appears to tempt you to take out one of their mortgages although it’s not mentioned in the poem.

@Xenophon PCDGS. Entirely possible that you're maybe not the target demographic that the HeyCar advertisers are aiming for. ;)
You may well be right in what you say...:'(

There are some musical backgrounds to TV adverts and perhaps at my age of 76, I do feel that I do suffer from "mondegreens syndrome" in making sense of the words that I hear in them. Whilst unsure of the advert in question (it could be the Battersea Dogs Home one), my ears most probably mistakenly hear snippets such as "Come on, little mama" and "I've got a brand-new sweater, puss" and I wonder who is singing the song in question.

Can we can the Halifax advert with the slogan "..it's a people thing.."

Not only is it very annoying, what does that slogan actually mean?

It means they need to refresh their marketing team. Its like a slogan from the '80s.

I would also like to ban that advert for ASDA fruit & veg.

The one where it shows huge piles of carrots, lemons etc. in the middle of the store, and people's clothing and hair magically turns into the colour of the piece of fruit or veg they have just picked up.

I just find it irritating. <(

It's all rather nebulous as are many advertising slogans.

Probably intended to mean that "helping" people who are part of the Halifax "community" is to now be at the forefront of Halifax's banking activities.

Which possibly means that previously it wasn't! :rolleyes:

I was about to mention Halifax adverts, but nothing to do with the slogan- I expect nothing more than vague buzzwords from banks. My objection is the very lazy and lowest-common-denominator music choice of "Stand By Me" by Oasis.

Whereas everyone should know that the only acceptable song of that name was sung by the incomparable Ben E. King.

That new Lloyds advert with a whole bunch of horses and needlessly long dramatic pause in the music is weird.

I suppose it's a matter of Horses for Courses Pauses.
Wherever you are seeing the latest LLoyds advert, just remember that is is part of the business model of whatever channel* you are watching. You have two choices:
1) ignore the advert
2) don't watch that channel
* that includes You Tube

I'll tell you once I've seen it. (I just had a silly response to offer.)

I'm rather cynical at Dove championing self image problems of girls driven by social media. Although I'm glad someone is pushing this message at least. Also the advert with all of the girls highlighting unhelpful attitudes towards periods seems a good idea. I think females get a pretty negative message from many adverts, especially those adverts with Eva Longoria telling them how awful they look.

The Persil advert lecturing people about knuckling down or something and getting off the comments section is patronising. They want to lecture on the environment? Fine, lecture all the companies who pollute the most.

Final part of my rant, companies claiming credit for sporting success. Like the shampoo which insists it helps develop the footballers of tomorrow because they wash their hair. The laundry tablet which cuts seconds off your 5K PB and the bed which is responsible for Olympic athletes winning medals because they sleep? There seems to be an attempt to really stretch what products can be credited for.

Looking at the set location of this advert, it seems to be situated in public parkland and if so, would not the owner of these horses be breaking the law by allowing a whole herd of them to run so freely in such an area?

There's only one real horse, I think - the rest are computer generated imagery.

I think they're referring to the world the advert is set in rather than the real life production of the advert. In this depicted world a bunch of horses are running wild in heavily built up areas.

Not sure what a group of horses is called, but I'm sure it's not a herd!

Is it just what I watch, or has the frequency of ads on YouTube increased massively? It's becoming painful to warch
It used to be one advert before the video. But now it's often two and if the video is long enough there'll be an ad break. Noticed on the free version of Spotify the number of pre-music adverts has gone from one to three. And I'm sure one second to them is actually two seconds. It feels like the entire media content industry is shoving more and more adverts into our lives.

Oak Tree Mobility are currently running a TV advert that starts with a very elderly man in one of those chairs sold by organisations that cater for elderly people, with leg raising facility who looks like he is not long for this world, then suddenly from nowhere music most definitely not from his generation commences to play. The elderly man then not only gets out of that chair, but displays being at one with the music and shows great mobility in going from room to room, dancing to the played music. Are we expected to believe what we have seen or is the elderly man a fraud?
It's months since I made that posting above and the old fraud is still prancing about in adverts this week. Are Oak Tree Mobility claiming that sitting in their recliner chairs bestows magical medical properties?

Maybe Oak Tree are sponsored by Lou and Andy from Little Britain...?

While I'm here.... not exactly an annoying advert as such, but an annoying "I'm sure I've seen the place"... in the Money Super Seven adverts, the place with all the arches at the end of the adverts - is that the undercroft of London Bridge station they are in?

Adverts for washing tablets annoy me when they say “keep away from children” at the end of the advert. If they didn’t look like colourful sweets then no child would go near them.

Don't watch much tv recently but for me it's Reginald Molehusband: it's frustrating the way he lurches about in that Morris Minor.
