Is it definitely the case that the medical is only a valid for 3 months? I had to travel quite a distance for the medical and stay overnight, so was not an insignificant cost.

All being well, I’m just waiting on contract / start date…

That or DBS. I work in education currently and we have to DBS everyone. Approx 3 months is the limit there too. If you're invited for a medical, you have to assume 4 months max till employment I think.

Also, don't lose heart. Medicals and DBS only have an approx 3 month shelf life. So not hearing may just mean a course later in the year. No news is not bad news, just a slightly later start.

Not according to other threads, some people have said that their medical was done a year or more previous and still stood when they were eventually given a start date! DBS is likely the one that has to be recent. As for someone elses comment about it taking a long time, this is a very quick turnaround compared to most of the others I have seen on the forum or ones that im in/been in. It only advertised November and people are through all stages and offered courses already!! Mega quick by railway standard.

Exactly the same. But we all got this and should all be super proud of how far we have got. Hopefully see some of you in May...

• The ATAVT Perception Test
• The 2-Hand Co-ordination Test
• The Situational Judgement Exercise
• The Multi-Modal Interview (MMI

You definitely need to do some searching around the forum as this will have been covered to death. Also, you should have been sent a pack prior to the first assessment day that outlines each test. If you look at the top of the forum page, right hand side, there is a search function.

I second what Northern Tech has said above. If you search this forum thoroughly for all the tests you mentioned, there will be no surprises on the day and very useful info of the best way to approach each one. Good luck

From what I’ve read it’s a basic DBS. If you’ve got any unspent and undeclared convictions on there it will show. Any spent ones won’t.

Got mine too. No start date but good to get the offer indeed.

Also, the email was in my junk folder and was very close indeed to being deleted! I only spotted it by chance during a quick clear out. Be warned!

I went for medical today, failed eye test, but booked in for Specsavers Saturday.. should be all fine, email
Results to freightliner then Saturday and should hear back from them next week. Start date still 30th May

Oh it was right eye.. but I know my eye site is spot on. I blame the fact that I just came off a 12 hour night as a signaller, straight to the medical

Waiting for next steps, as the manager interviewing told me I had passed also I've already passed all the opc tests to freightliner standard, so waiting to find out if I will make it onto one of this years course's.

OPC was the last step for me and I had a email from freightliner advising of course allocation taking place on the same day OPC advise of a pass, still awaiting updates after that though.
