Mine was from the last round of applications, so had all my original tests late 2018!
Had a fresh DMI beginning of Feb this year.

It makes sense that they are working down the order if you had it in feb, so those that applied in nov and passed early feb should be next on the list (I hope).

Hi guys, i have been asked to attend an interview for FL; short notice albeit. Can anyone tell me what to expect? In all my applications I have never been asked to attend an interview for a TOC/FOC before, it all been assessments/DMI/Medical but the interview for FL is not a DMI so I am a little confused as to the process; its different to other process ive gone to.

It will be a DMI they just do things a bit out of sync to other toc/foc’s
Q same questions as normal, draw on your past experiences, it’s pretty standard stuff. Lots use the STAR method, I don’t… Im a little older and have a fair bit of life experience so just draw from one of those experiences and just ad-lib. I find ‘for me’ it gives a more natural/less rehearsed interview! But that’s just me

I asked him (the manager of South East) and he said its definitely not a DMI but is a standard job interview. He is the one who asked me if I can attend the interview...

Not that long at all…only advertised in Nov! It’s Feb and they about to send out offers, that’s extremely quick in railway recruitment I’d say! Read some other threads, 1 to 2 years or more!

No no no get it quick as in elapsed time. But long as in getting from start to finish and the not knowing etc. similar to ‘it’s been a long day’

Yeah its sounding like a standard job interview not a DMI; he said he isnt aware of my assessment passes.

I'm waiting for my contract to come through. Interview was last year in November, the tests in Watford done 31st January.. passed everything so just waiting now for the email with start date so I can officially hand in my notice to Network rail. Where are you both going to be based?

Not yet, but I've recently had a railway medical so wonder if they use that.
Got told I will be on course in May. Perfect as can take couple weeks off before starting

You will. It's a slow process but with the number and amount of people they have to deal with it's a complex task.. arranging Medicals, course dates and classes, uniforms, release dates etc. but all worth it in the end.

Also, don't lose heart. Medicals and DBS only have an approx 3 month shelf life. So not hearing may just mean a course later in the year. No news is not bad news, just a slightly later start.

Is it definitely the case that the medical is only a valid for 3 months? I had to travel quite a distance for the medical and stay overnight, so was not an insignificant cost.

All being well, I’m just waiting on contract / start date…
