Friday i went to a show in manchester. I bought a Garforth to Manchester return. I knew the show was going to finish late and accepted Id be on the night train at 1am but id only be able to get to Leeds and have to get a taxi to Garforth at my expence. The 1am train was cancelled we qued up for for replacement buses which never turned up and eventually we where all put in taxis. Am i entitled to delay repay for the part of the journey back to Leeds?

Yes. You just need to be clear in your claim that you are seeking compensation relating to the delayed arrival at Leeds.
Will Delay Repay fund the full length return journey to Manchester, or just Leeds? As the OP suggests they knew they couldn't get all the way back to their origin, nor would Northern have had a service that could get them back there.

Where the passenger was intentionally ending short, it'd generally be on the full amount (too complex to work out partial payment) but based on arrival time at the station where they ended short. Such claims have to go via customer services anyway for most TOCs so they can use a bit of sense in working it out.
If, however, the ticket did not permit Break of Journey (which is generally considered to include starting/ending short), the entitlement is arguably zero.
