I had my DMI two weeks ago in York and it was face to face in their office. If it is going to be over Teams, you don't necessarily need to download and install the Teams app. The link provided should get you into your interview through your web browser as long as it is reasonably up to date.

Wouldn’t worry about it. We still need to do our assessments and everything else for a start date at end of March.

I would imagine there will be a course in April or later. To get a DMI and Medical by the end of march seems unlikely.
I had to wait about 2 weeks for my DMI and then it’s been 2 weeks that I’ve been waiting on a medical and I still don’t have an appointment.
Although i guess it is possible ♂️

I’ve heard the trainee courses are on hold.
We were told it’s for the course at the end of March. Assessments all in one day. Recruitment is a joke at the best of times at tpe however, it can be done. It’s not uncommon for medicals to be the done the week before a job starts and contracts to be sent out the day after the medical.

And yes, this could happen if what someone mentioned on here about people not being able to start due to their notice periods, is true.

Many people receive their offer and contract prior to the medical

What happens in this instance if you sign the contract, hand in your notice to your current employer, then subsequently fail the medical? Most people who post up on here seem to get sent to the medical or receipt of it passing then receive a contract and a start date from what I have read.

Contracts state subject to passing a medical that's why its called a "conditional" contract
It will also state somewhere that its subject to receiving satisfactory employer references or DBS check so really nothing is guaranteed !

To put it bluntly you don’t get the job
(Though there are some circumstances that can lead to a re-test)

I’m pretty sure there is no proof behind what a few people have just said.
I’ve personally spoken with HR and the plan to start on 28th march remains.
If people are posting things without any actual proof then they are just trying to scaremonger.

Also for the guy complaining about TPE recruitment, considering we are still in Covid I think they have done a great job and HR has been in contact with me regularly keeping me updated.

Don’t hand in notice until medical is passed. TPE HR specifically told me this.

If that’s aimed at me then I personally wasn’t trying to scaremonger so apologies for that. I said I was going for a start date for the end of March. You stated it’s probably not enough time between now and then but there’s possibly more courses later on. I then said it’s still possible for the end of March given how tpe can do medicals are contracts up until the last minute so to speak.
