Before privatisation when wages rose exponentially were driver jobs still very difficult to aquire assuming you were in the industry and working perhaps as a secondman which used to be the entry route ? Some people suggest it's far more competitive now?
Whilst being paid more the job has in some ways gotten easier ie less traction knowledge required bit in others harder as you can't make any mistakes these days and everything is recorded
