Just to let you know that the PT-o-lino was out today:

And it is going to be out every single day through January and February because it is covering Pendolinos on the BHM - EUS runs as they are going in for refurb.

From what the driver was saying, it is going to be on the same diagrams as today which will be the 10:43 and 14:43 from Euston and 12:30 and 16:30 from BHM

And it is going to be 90045 pulling it unless Freightliner want it back for some reason

If its the same as todays it will be:

0703 Euston-Birmingham
0850 Birmingham-Euston
1043 Euston-Birmingham
1230 Birmingham-Euston
1443 Euston-Birmingham
1630 Birmingham-Euston

But today, I think it ran/is running the 1846, so after the 1630 off New St, it may run the 1843 back to Crewe

I saw it in Euston today with 90045 in Freightliner "Powerhaul" colours. Surprisingly, the 2 colour schemes go together really well. Why are DB 90s no longer being used?

The DB 90s are being put on standby for the postal services. Guy I spoke to says that it is going to be 90045 unless it is caled back for by Freightliner

Or unless it breaks down.

Not sure if it's just down to using the 90s for postal standby. Last I heard was there were only four serviceable EWS 90s and they are all required for sleeper duty. I could of course be wrong about this.

It'll be due an exam before long. Rumour hath it that we'll have 90047 then, as a certain well known crank in a very senior position needs it for haulage........

As far as I know apart from one railtour 047 has never worked a passenger train - and yes I do need it for haulage along with 044 and EWS long term demics 027, 030 and 037.

PS 042 and 046 were on hire to VWC in 2000.

I'm not really sure what this means. They're certainly not down for a refurbishment or even a refresh. And all maintenance/exams fit within the existing diagramming requirements!

Set has C Exam - so won't be out till end of next week.

No refurbs for 390s, just a maintenance backlog. WB64 will run as required, it does not mean it will run every day.

Yes it has as I had it a few years ago. I'll need to have a look through my record to find out on what but it wasn't a railtour.

I had 047 on a passenger train on 22/09/90 - the new RfD ones (as they were then) were pretty regular on passenger trains at the time, I also had 041/044/046 around that period. Only the new kids on the block will think they never worked passenger trains! ;)

No, not in passenger service. It would lose too much time, and would affect other services
