One minute connection on to last train?

Just been looking at Real Time trains for the May 2022 timetable for the north Wales Coast.

The last train from Llandudno Junction to Llandudno is showing as a 1 minute connection from the 2034 TfW train Ex Chester.
Obviously this can’t be considered an official connection, certainly not on journey planners, but surely this is crazy, the 2132 needs to be a couple of minutes later?
What is the minimum official connection time at Llandudno Junction for journey planners?

Yes 5 minutes. So it’s not an official connection. You may think that is ridiculous, and it probably is. It may be worth contacting TFW and asking why it is the way it is.

However.

In the real world. Looking at the historical running data for this, the train regularly arrives at 2128 if not a little before. Whilst it should NOT be relied upon, there’s a good chance that if you’re fit and able you should be able to make this connection more often than not if you position yourself accordingly and don’t dwell too long.

I have emailed TfW, whether I get a plausible explanation is another matter!

It is a straight forward, easy connection but you can’t buy tickets for this specific journey as it won’t show on journey planners!

I’m not sure if you can buy ‘advance’ tickets this way but if you use something like Trainsplit (you don’t have to split tickets) you can specify a negative connection time at junction and it might generate an itinerary with flexible tickets. Obviously this doesn’t mean you have any rights to make the connection but it would at least generate an itinerary and book seats on an earlier service should they be available and that be required.

To make it worse, it looks as if the change of trains would have to include a platform change via footbridge/lift between potentially Platform 4 and Platform 3 - as the 2132 to Llandudno will be coming from Blaenau Ffestiniog, and P1 is scheduled to be occupied by an east bound train at the same time.

Does it have to pass anything between Blaenau and Llandudno? Is there an issue on the hours in the driver or guards diagram?

It isn't a connection at present, and it will connect with the preceding 2026 ex CTR.

The 2132 can't be any later because it only has 5 mins at Llandudno before making the 2145 to Crewe.

It's possibly worth noting, that the signal boxes at Llandudno and Deganwy close at 22:00, which may have some sway on the timing of the last train. Any delays could potentially be rather costly.
