Due to the commonwealth games coming up in 2022.
And considering a busy summer for all any ideas or speculative ideas on any hired in traction or interesting stock on special, extra or timetables services as train operators need what they can extra demand.
Starting off with vintage trains possible steam passenger services with the 144 Pacers on the Stratford upon avon to
Worcester corridor maybe. Due to many events in this area.

Nothing is being hired in, all extras will be existing stock.

Spoilsport introducing facts into this thread!

I was looking forward to see what madcap ideas would appear - and in my BS bingo card for this thread I had 365s, 442s, strategic steam reserve, 4Sub/2Bil, BR would have done...., reformed class 153s into 155s and a demand for a new Rover / Ranger ticket costing no more than 2 bob and covering London, Manchester, Inverness and Portsmouth.....

Considering most events are all on normal well trafficked routes, I am not sure what people were expecting. Sandwell, NEC, Coventry, Cannock Chase, Leamington etc...

Top 'n Tail class 91s and Mk4s as crowd-busters I suspect...... particularly as they're 25kv, though the fact there probably isn't any capacity between Coventry, NEC and Sandwell is, I'm sure, simply due to some conspiracy to stop people travelling by train and if we only cracked on with HS2, EWR and a couple of other dodgy re-openings there would be capacity ;)

A 144-operated shuttle would certainly show any dignitaries from former colonial territories just what they've been missing out on...
