Do EMR Conductors accept Northern Rail staff passes out of interest in the Cheshire/Greater Manchester area?

ok no problem I just wondered. I know in the bus industry, Arriva drivers accept Stagecoach/First passes etc as an example so just wondered if it was the same in the rail industry....
Ask the guard before you board and they might let you on, or they might ask you to buy a ticket. There's no official entitlement to free travel with EMR.

If I'm travelling to or from work in uniform I've never had issues using my staff card for free travel on other TOCs, and always get staff from other TOCs onboard my train for the same reason who I allow to travel. If im in uniform going to or from work I still ask the conductor of the train I'm boarding if its OK.

If I'm traveling for leisure I'll always buy the appropriate ticket with my priv card.
