Devon Route 614 circa 1980 Tavistock to Luckett

I have just found a negative which I took of Bedford VAM NRE291F taken at Tavistock Bus Station on the service 614 to Luckett in the Tamar Valley.

The vehicle has no fleet names and the legal lettering is not visible.

Does anyone know which operator ran this service circa 1980. I suspect H&A Sleep of Bere Alston - but I am not 100% certain can anyone confirm?

Buslistsontheweb.co.uk says that the vehicle was new to Arnold, Twogates, but other than that there's not much coming up online. In 1980 it would have been 12 years old, so possibly not with its original owner.

Yes I found the refence to the original owner. I did once have a collection of Devon and Cornwall bus timetables of the period but they succumbed to a clear out around 15-20 years ago.

According to Timetable World, the year before (1979) it was operated by 'J.R. Striplin' of Tavistock. In the link, look down to the Independent Operators section.

I’ve been able to confirm that in 1980 the route was operated by Striplin, Tavistock.
