But why the Gold ones from Oxford when they're more luxury than presumably anything else running the Oxford - Banbury S4 now?I don't think a definitive reason has ever been given, however if I was to hazard a guess it could be to do with the fact that Gloucester depot is very experienced with Scania vehicles (hence the pending transfer of 5 Scania Enviro 300s from Banbury).
It was suggested earlier in this thread that it's for commonality of vehicle types with fewer types to train staff on, easier maintenance etc - there are no other Scanias in Banbury so they've sent these away and gotten some older, less luxurious ADL ones in their place. But why the Gold ones from Oxford when they're more luxury than presumably anything else running the Oxford - Banbury S4 now?
E200 MMCs are going to be running the S4 now and the PO11s are going to be running the 500.But why the Gold ones from Oxford when they're more luxury than presumably anything else running the Oxford - Banbury S4 now?
Bad luck to the drivers and staff at Ross: I sincerely hope that they will not be out of work for long.33 -
Adjustments to cater for the closure of Ross depot / minor punctuality improvements
With the closure of Ross, Gloucester will gain most of the buses with a total of 19 Scania Enviro 400s allocated. 9 of these will work out of the outstation at Coleford, an increase of 2 on currently. Gloucester and Coleford take on current Ross routes.

You can’t run a bus for 5 people, running a single decker instead of a double won’t make enough difference to make it viable.Odd to still be waiting for the criticism that Stagecoach should have done more to make the services beyond Newent viable than using double decker buses all the time and then saying they aren’t full… The cuts are a bit tough if you live in Dymock or Gorsley with quite a long walk to the next nearest bus stop.
We’ll see if Herefordshire Council suddenly magic up a load more money for a replacement but the general trend in recent years has been to let cross border services wither away to almost nothing. Not ideal for a rural county which has more towns just outside its border than inside.
Rather sad to see Ross depot go as there's few country depots of that ilk. The odd thing is that there was originally a depot (the Brunel Workshops around the corner) and it was closed in the late 80s but an outstation was instead retained on the yard adjacent (where the car wash now is). It was Stagecoach who re-established a depot just around the corner. I don't know if they investigated it but creating an outstation in Ross might have been another option?Changes to the Forest coming end of February
24 -
Minor timing changes / improvements to punctuality
32/132 -
Newent-Ledbury withdrawn
Newent-Ross reduced to 2 buses per day M-F in each direction (mainly for John Kyrl School)
(Roughly) hourly between Gloucester-Newent, now leaving at :40 past during the day.

Yes 37011 is using 34815s ticket machine, that is in Cheltenham depot being stripped for parts. I believe 36771 is tracking as 18085.Does anyone know what is using 18085's ticket machine as it's tracking as 18085 but it says it's a spare ticket machine? I know that it isn't 18085 as that's withdrawn. Also do you know what is using 38415's ticket machine? Is 37011 YX63 ZTJ using 38415's ticket machine?
Why is 34815 being stripped for parts? That’s a lovely bus!Yes 37011 is using 34815s ticket machine, that is in Cheltenham depot being stripped for parts. I believe 36771 is tracking as 18085.
It is a 16 year old Dart. Who knows what it's like underneath and that it needs work doing to it that simply isn't cost effective on a vehicle that ageWhy is 34815 being stripped for parts? That’s a lovely bus!
I know I knew that it wasnt operating on the 69 and 620 as it isn't compliant with the clean air zone in bath so I knew it was a different bus I just didn't know which one it was.It is a 16 year old Dart. Yeah but are 36771, 36928 and 36929 all compliant with the clean air zone in Bath? Why did 37008, 37009, 37010, 37011, 37012 and 37013 all transfer from Bristol to Stroud in return for 37236, 37239, 37242, 37243 and 37245?Yes 37011 is using 34815s ticket machine, that is in Cheltenham depot being stripped for parts. I am well aware of the limitations of BusTimes but it is often extremely useful.
Does anybody know why the 32/132 and 33 routes do not track at all - or they haven't since 6th January?
Not only that, if a bus is on the 32/132 then it does appear on the map and show its history, but not as a 32/132, usually as a 22 or 23. For example vehicle 15763 now, it claims to be on the 23 but actually for the last 4 hours or so it has been to Ross and Ledbury. 15877 has also been to Ledbury today, allegedly on the 22.
However the 33 does not track on the map either, so a bus on the 33 seems to totally disappear without trace. Some vehicles appear not to have tracked for some weeks, such as 15871, clearly a Ross bus.
What is happening here?
I thought it was probably to do with the chassis. It is a 16 year old Dart. Who knows what it's like underneath and that it needs work doing to it that simply isn't cost effective on a vehicle that age

Oddly, the affected routes (which also included the 36) are tracking again today - in the case of the 132 only a few weeks before it disappears altogether.Ever since the changes were registered this problem has occurred - I presume that it is as a result of an error whilst making the changes. C65/C66 as well as Newent's 830/1/2/3/4/5 also not tracking for some reason. These routes should reappear at the end of February following the service changes.
I have 36771, 36928 & 36929 as Euro 6 compliant (compiled from Gov Clean Air Zone checker site). As for 37236 upwards - I don't know, the site seems to assume that every vehicle with a '14 reg or newer is automatically Euro 6, no idea whether they are or not!I know I knew that it wasnt operating on the 69 and 620 as it isn't compliant with the clean air zone in bath so I knew it was a different bus I just didn't know which one it was.

So they are! Excellent. For a few weeks. Does anyone think Gloucestershire or Herefordshire will step in to provide some service for the 32 and 132 beyond Newent?Oddly, the affected routes (which also included the 36) are tracking again today - in the case of the 132 only a few weeks before it disappears altogether.
If I were to guess (and this is only a guess), we might get a limited service between Ross and Gorsley rolled into the Ross area contracts currently run by Nick Maddy Coaches, and some kind of schools provision for Dymock. Anything more extensive is probably wishful thinking. So they are! Excellent. For a few weeks. Was it a local liveried one or one in the normal stagecoach livery?Anyone know what bus machine 10902 is on? It's definitely on a Solo, but no clue which one. I didn't make a note of the number as I got off annoyingly.
