This is quite a strange question, but would a first class season from Bedford to 1-6 allow first class throughout zones 1-6, or is it just a first class season between london terminals and bedford with a travelcard? For that matter, is it restricted to trains? If it is, do they lift restrictions in times of disruption when the advice is to use the buses?

The first point I am unsure about, but it is a travelcard with first class so logic says it will be valid in any first class accomodation within the zones. There isn't a lot of that though. The second point is clear, a travelcard is always valid on all trains*, tubes and DLR within the zones covered and also all London buses. If the travelcard includes any of zones 3-6 then it is also valid on Croydon Trams.

* apart from Hex, Heathrow Connect between Hayes and the Airport and on HS1 between St Pancras and Stratford.

A first class travelcard is valid in first class accomodation (where available) throughout the travelcard area.

The season ticket from Bedford has no time restrictions.

A season ticket allows unlimited travel within its area of validity (inc. 1st class where available for a 1st class season) so in this case Bedford stations to London zones 1-6 can't be anything but a travel card I would have thought.

For travel from a station outside the London Travelcard area...If you start your commute from a station outside the Travelcard area, your Travelcard season ticket offers unlimited travel between your starting station and the Zone 6 boundary of the Travelcard area (on the route shown on your Travelcard), plus unlimited travel on National Rail, London Underground, Docklands Light Railway, Tramlink (valid throughout the Tramlink network when Travelcard is valid in Zone 3, 4, 5 or 6 or any combination of these Zones) within your chosen Zones, for the period for which your ticket is valid. Your Travelcard will also be valid on most London bus services on the London Bus network. Travelcard seasons can only be issued for a minimum of two adjacent Zones and must include Zone 6. It is! but only up to the zone 6 boundary and it then becomes a first class travel card, but of course finding first class on suburban routes is nigh on impossible.

A season ticket between BEDFORD STATIONS and LONDON ZONES 1-6 should prominently display the word Travelcard. Have you encountered a ticket which does not?

No, I haven't actually seen one of these, I was looking to see how much it would cost and I didn't know whether it covered first class acroos the zones, in particular on the sutton loop which isn't a route between Bedford and London Terminals as far as I know.

But it's a route within LONDON ZONES 1-6 and that is the destination printed on the ticket.

For most of the trains round the Sutton loop First Class accommodation is not advertised.

I've never actually needed to use the sutton loop, but I might have to at very short notice and possibly quite alot quite soon. I just assumed it had first like the rest of the FCC services round my way.
