The way that a single word is often used nowadays for all variants of meaning. Floor seems now to be used when ground used to be: floor is in a building or vehicle, ground is outside. Or chair for seat on a bus or train. (And don’t get me started on alibi.) It seems to be that all too many people, including those who write professionally, have a diminishing vocabulary.

"Why not download our app?"
As I can do what I need to do using a web browser. Sod off.
May I add Instagram. Making me jump through hoops every time I click through from twitter. I don't want the app, OK? Especially as that's the way you treat people :{

Ban "Ground floor" in buildings. The US does not do many things right (my opinion) but this is one. The first floor is the first floor I enter a building from ground level. When I look at a building I count 1, 2, 3...... not G, 1, 2 ,3. Drives me mad. So many times I have pressed floor 1 to exit a building in the UK using a lift.

I can think of multiple buildings with exits that aren't on the ground floor as well (and one where you have to change lifts on the first floor to get out) - I do prefer the British way of Ground - 1 - 2 though. I can also think of lettered floor buildings where the entrance isn't on G either (and only one with a floor A, to add to any confusion)

Changing it now would, unfortunately, only lead to confusion and, inevitably, death in emergency situations, possibly multiple ones. You'll just have to suck it in.

This is something I've only ever noticed in Britain, and it seems to have been going on for a while now. I've no idea why.

I used to visit a building where the lifts were labelled G, F, S, T. Both G and F had exits.

The American way is best for the first 12 floors, but then they ruin all their good work by jumping straight from 12 to 14.

Our offices in London are American style (logo on the outside etc.), the floors start at 1, not ground, but oddly we still have a 13th floor. The Manhattan office is 44 floors but - as you say - omit level 13.

The all too frequent muddling up of time systems: ‘08.00 in the evening’, ‘15.00 p.m.’, etc. as it leads to confusion. There are two simple systems which make it explicitly clear what you are referring to, so why not use one or the other.

My brother -- a brilliant chap in many departments of life -- has, as he would be the first to admit, a mental block in a big way, about times / dates / any scheduling therewith; he'd agree heartily about the confusion / muddling-up as above. In fact, he'd go so far as to ban time-measurement altogether. He sometimes muses that he'd have done well as a prehistoric man, cognizant only of "the past -- now -- the future"; he sees the rot as having begun to set in millennia ago, when those damned clever-dick astronomers began fooling around with measuring and calculating time.

Those "cookies" popups which appear on every. Single. Website.

"We notice you're using an ad blocker..." How very observant of you. Now mind your own business.

email sent in HTML format.

Often appears as a totally blank message for those of us who set our software to read in the safer "text only" format.

("Text only" format reduces the chance of you mistakenly clicking links to dodgy sites that often appear in HTML format messages.)

USB cables that only transmit power and not data. As far as I'm concerned it's just penny-pinching.
It can also be for security, if you're connecting a device to an untrusted supply - to the extent that you can still buy adaptors that block the data leads.

They're still painful though because newer devices use the data leads to negotiate high-power charging, so a no-data cable will leave you in low-power mode.

Not comedic (apart from my disproportionate ire) but floral tributes being left with their plastic on.
Instead of the flowers/greenery disintegrating and blowing away in a natural and somewhat fitting way it just rots into a mess of black goo and plastic litter, which somebody has to be paid to clear up. The shiny plastic makes the tribute look ugly and cheap too.

I'd ban Johnathan Creek, having been forced to watch several episodes of it by my family.
