XC new timetable HST diagrams

Does anyone know which diagrams in the new timetable the XC HST are covering?

Got to make a journey form MK to York and fancy a decent train for once!

There have been quite a few little changes to the XC timetable from this new period, mainly with calling points like Chester-le-Street and Stafford, as well as services (only one or two) on the NE/Scotland leg being diverted away from Doncaster to run via Leeds instead, one of the afternoon Reading trains from Newcastle methinks. It's also good to see extensions from those services to Southampton Central, even if some have strange calling points beyond Reading.

thank you - i am both blind and stupid!

On Friday the 1223 off Plymouth threw out a Voyager but the 1323 off PLymouth was an HST (thank god) rammed but much more comfortable than an voyager. Got a nice table seat in the former buffet, sat back and relaxed. Traction was 43366 & 43303

I see in your post concerning XC HST times, you mentioned stafford as being a change in calling points,does this mean some of the services run via the east coast.

No; it just affects the Bristol/Bournemouth to Manchester services, which have always run via Stafford.

I can testify to tat because the 14:02 Bristol Temple Meads train didn't used to call at Stafford but now does and I think the Exeter train does as well but not sure on that, don't quote me

Also, when I went to Stafford on Tuesday, was it me or was every service to and from Piccadilly a 220 Voyager? Didn't see one 221 Super Voyager (apart from VT)

Okay, let's take some examples here:

Let's take Cardiff to Nottingham, a three hour trip roughly and all they can put on is a two or three car 170!

Plymouth to the north is a classic case, one of their major routes and what do they think? Oh, let's put a five car voyager on!

And this could go through to ATW as well with their merge with XC.

Cardiff - Holyhead, a two car Coradia for crying out loud!

The only route that gets the tiniest bit of respect is the Birmingham Int through to either Holyhead/Aberystwyth and Pwllheli because that is a four car 158!

I will agree with you on that point BUT surely some common sense should come into play

Cross Country have in their franchise:

10 HST sets
29 Turbostar sets
34 220 Voyager
23 221 Super Voyagers

Now surely, they should be using ALL of that stock in a single day so wouldn't the smart and business decision be bolt some cars together and make longer trains thus eliminating any kind of chance of overcrowding

And when does this plan leave room for routine maintenance (let alone more major overhauls)? You might be able to do most of it overnight but even with the best will in the world your always going to have a few sets out of commission during the day as well. So its going to be impossible to have 100% of the fleet available 100% of the time.

Just because a route is operated by XC, that doesn't make it a true XC route. If Cardiff - Nottingham still belonged to Central Trains I bet you wouldn't even mention it in this context. What I'm saying is that the Central Trains franchise carve up a few years ago promised nothing about changing the stock used on the routes.

No such Merger has happened, or will happen. XC and ATW remain two completely separate franchises, unless the DfT say otherwise.
