Indeed, although last I knew the D stock replacement had been put on hold due to lack of £££..

The deal has already been signed, the paperwork printed. Its the last to change, but it will happen.

But no one asked your opinion Ryan.

My names not Ryan for one, and two as someone has already said if you post stuff on a public forum and don't expect replys its the whole point of a forum if you have not already picked up the hang of things? (As a member) I advise you take personal matters and discuss them via the PM facility.

Back to the original topic, and how long is it until the first 'S' stock units arrive for the District, and Hammersmith & City lines? A couple of years waiting?

Indeed, although last I knew the D stock replacement had been put on hold due to lack of £££. C stock replacement will follow the A stock with the same trains with minor differences such as one less car and less seats.

Although there have been rumours about D stock replacement being deferred in a number of public forums, there is actually no evidence whatsoever in TfL's online business and project reports, (search for 'board papers' on TfL's website) and the build contract was always for the entire subsurface fleet.

The D stock is, and always was, the last to be replaced, by the end of 2015.

The first S7 is due to arrive around late March/April next year.

This will be a re-delivery of S8 test train 21001-21002 with 1 car removed.
This will test S7 infrastructure etc. before being returned to an S8.

Already S7 stopping marks have been installed at some H&C/DR stations and platform humps have been installed at Southfields and Earl's Court.

Pardon me for asking but what's happening with the seats, seat covers etc...I understand the A Stock is going for scrap but surely they're not going to just scrap everything?

I quite like the seat design on the A Stocks seats not to mention that they're comfortable and wouldn't mind getting my hands on a seat.
