Does anyone know when they are placing 456s on SWT, I know it will be when Southern 313s are doing West Coastways and then 377s are doing Metros. But does anyone have any idea when this will happen? Interesting to see 456s down my end propably doing Kingston/Hounslow loops.

I repeat the question: When are 313s to be used on West Coastway?

Timetable change this week!

Well doesn't the Southern lease expire around 2011-2? Although that could of course mean nothing!

13 diagrams are apparently required on Monday 13th, but they are already in use on the West Coastway - haven't they been to Worthing and Littlehampton in service already?

Doesn't the Hove shuttle count? :D

meant to portsmouth :P

Who knows? There is no immediate need, because the 10 car Metro area train plan is not due for completion until 2013, due to all the platform extensions required.

Hence Dec 2010 has never been the deadline for ALL the 313s to be in use.

I always thought 455s were used on metro services

They are, and AIUI so are 377s. The aim of the 19 x 313s on the coastways is to release the 3 car 377/3s to allow them to operate in the suburban areas as 3+3+4 10 car trains. Whether or not that counts as the metro area I'll leave to the locals...

I think he meant the SN green ones...

Saw fully refurbed 313213 at Fratton this afternoon, it passed through in both directions working the 1401 to Littlehampton outbound, and whatever the inbound equivalent was, so I presume it had made a couple of earlier visits as well.

Evidence that they are spreading their wings then...
