Nope. To access Double Locks, the route is from Alphington Road via Haven Road or Willeys Avenue to Water Lane and follow that to the end, alongside the canal to the Salmonpool swing bridge near Bromham Farm and Grace Road playing fields (not Countess Wear).

Update on Marsh Barton. Lots of activity now... see pics for details. I don't know what's really happening... there are lots of people, concrete blocks, machinery, pipes and other things!

Another visual update with lots of changes since the last picture. Looks like a culvert is being created alongside the track next to the incinerator as a lot of this area is now filled in.

The big black pipe sections in the top picture of post #33 definitely look the sort of size for a culvert. But I also saw it was culverted in one of the planning drawings, although there was no real detail shown.

Not that it will matter if you’ve previously spent a few hours/drinks at Double Locks nearby!Is there a "worst view from a station platform" thread? I suspect Marsh Barton will be up there.

I'm hoping for some decent landscaping @Cletus ... some large fir trees ought to help!

I suspect Warrington BQ smells better, after all it is a perfume factory rather than a rubbish burner (call a spade a spade). Perhaps an enterprising local could paint something scenic at Marsh Barton - a jungle canopy with brightly coloured birds etc.
One of our girls boyfriends works in that place. I could probably supply the paint...
I don't know, Green Park (and all those lovely new houses) are next to a capped over Landfill site! Though granted, the Exeter bound platform is next to be entrance of the incinerator. At least the view from the Newton Abbot platform should be nicer!

There's a lovely sewage farm out at Island Rd about half a mile away too, that'll be tasty on a 30 degree day!I don't know, Green Park (and all those lovely new houses) are next to a capped over Landfill site! To balance out the less than inspiring views & comments, here's a view of that very same nearby pub: Double Locks. A nice place to sit on a warm afternoon or evening & watch trains & the odd boat go by! Not my photo.

Indeed. On the trading estate side, it looks like they're preparing the supports for the new footbridge. On the canal side, the new entrance road is taking shape as well.
