Hi all, I’ve just passed an interview for the role of Shunter. I’m now waiting to be contacted to sit an OPC Psychometric test. Does anybody have any idea what this covers.
cheers

Depends on whether it’s a driving shunter role or not. If so OPC have a suite of tests that all driving grades have to pass to be able to continue the application. (See the sticky at the top of the thread).
OPC have many psychometric tests though so if it’s a “ground” shunting role then it may be some of these.
The TOC you’re applying to will give you at least 7 days notice of the tests along with some prep material but it might be worth reading the JD to give you an idea if it’s a driving role and start preparing now.

Hi, sorry it’s a ground crew shunter.

So when I was shunting it was a really basic collection of psychometrics and some basic reasoning and numeracy tests. But it varies from TOC to TOC. Mine were not OPC psychometrics so I doubt I can offer many pointers but you should get some info in advanced. Also if you are comfortable mentioning the TOC others may have advice. Good luck.

Hi, sorry it’s a ground crew shunter.
Hi,

Just curious if the role you applied for was in Derby/the interview was held in Derby? I’m currently waiting for a response to a recent interview I had.

Thanks.
