Any reportings from the past few 'snow days' could be interesting stories etc

Today the Southern train I was on was about the only one running with sparks flying off everywhere and icicles all over the bogies etc was quite a sight!! was an 8 coach train as well which odd given it was only going to littlehampton

I'm doubtful the full southern service will resume tomorrow..

BLOODY HELL unrelated but just found this vandalism: http://rtranmer.fotopic.net/p68292927.html

Probably had been at Bellingham sidings overnight, apparently its notorious for serious graffiti attacks like that!

I think by what was said by the Transport Secretary on the news, I think it was yesterday that it is expected were possible for all train services to resume their normal Sunday schedules today. Is this likely to happen? I know here in the South East the snow has mostly cleared, but is that the same in other areas of the country?

Alas no. Up here in Yorkshire, we're at the stage where everything has compacted into ice and slush so that if the temperature drops again (as promised by the met office) all the pavements will freeze into death trap ice rinks.

The 319's get hit every weekend at Bellingham so this is no surprise and its not the worst they been hit.

Also bad is the Ashford sidings where the 377/5 have been hit a few times.

Every weekend. Bellingham is in London. I talked to some FCC staff about this before, and they just said the SE sidings are pretty open, and that nobody seems to really pay attention or guard them.

Its an unmanned station where you walk to the end of the platform and the siding starts (with a nice walkway for drivers which they find very helpful for accessing the trains). Prefect conditions for these idiots to mess up the trains.

TBH, if SE wants to do nothing about the vandalism, I resent TL trains being put in those sidings. Infact, I resent putting any trains there. I think at minimum passengers should be able to travel in a non-vandalised train.

While I realise that the train in the OPs linked photo is out of service, I've definetly seen similar trains in service.

Unfortunately i can confirm 319007 was out in service in this state today as my friend commented on it to me this morning stating the unit number. I also observed 319383 at West Hampstead Thameslink tonight on the 18.52 to Sevenoaks with one carraige covered in graffiti up to window height. I am a daily user of the North Thameslink route and have noticed a massive increase in graffiti internally and externally since day 1 of the joint South Eastern services and it really annoys me . Having seen the Bellingham sidings i find it truly shocking the fact they stable 4 units there unattended all weekend. On a seperate note I have used the 319s on services in the South Eastern area many times and am still yet to see any revenue protection.

Agreed. And think at one point the 377/5 were proposed to be there over the weekend.

Shame actually as all the effort to get rid of the worst of the graffiti could have better been used making all the 319's into FCC livery. Not to mention the cost.

One 377/5 was there over the weekend back when they were new. It got hit pretty bad. Massive grafitti tags on the first two carriages. I don't remember which.
