Hi guys
As the title says, would an 'any permitted route' ticket be valid via Basingstoke? Or do you have to go via Great Western Railway? The reason i want to go via South Western Railway is that they are considerably less fussy about bikes and the added bonus of a breakfast stop in Basingstoke. Having checked National Rail Enquiries a super off peak ticket is the same price via either route (£48.35) if this makes any difference?
Any advice would be appreciated

Best, Simon

They may be less fussy but a reservation is still needed on services formed with their diesel units.
If you are travelling on our London Waterloo to Salisbury/Exeter/Bristol trains you will need to reserve a space for your bike:

No problem going from Maidstone to Frome via Waterloo, Basingstoke, Salisbury and Westbury - mapped route from London on map WC.
