Congratulations to all those passing and getting contracts, I’m so pleased for all of you.

Is anyone else waiting for DMI slots to become available?

I am surprised that contracts have been given for WGC seeing as there are no current vacancies there.

Maybe there is an expansion being planned to accommodate the split between those going through the core and those staying north of the river.

Well done to all those who are starting though.

Where do these 3 live? I wonder if their location has played a part in which depots they have been given

I can only think GN probably expect new trainees will take so long in their training that the welwyn will lose a lot of drivers (to other depots) by the time the new starters pass out. (I believe there's starters from 2018 who've not passed out.)

There's the 3 trainees mentioned above, and there must be at least 4-5 (possibly more) qualified drivers looking to transfer to welwyn. I'd expect they'd be offered any vacant slots in the welwyn roster first.

Although welwyn has more driver instructors than hornsey, so maybe that's possily why new trainees are being given welwyn?

I believe more closer to Welwyn than Hornsey but they was told that there’s quite a few drivers wanting to go Welwyn so they have to wait

It may be that there may has been priority given trainees who live a good bit further north for whom WGC is an okay travel but Hornsey would not be. Dont know for sure but might be the case

I wouldn’t have thought this was the case. AFAIK, Welwyn is full and has an internal waiting list of qualified drivers.

Definitely not the case, as I know there are drivers at Hornsey who come in from as far as peterborough !!

The whole process is pretty much shambles to be honest. I applied in December 2020 and still awaiting to do my assessments.. no logic in this recruitment process!

Does anybody know whether you do the MMI or DMI on the assessment centre day for southern or do you do it at a later date, as i have my assessment this friday?

It's been assessment day, dmi and mmi ... all separate days. I don't know if they've changed it or not, but probably it's still the same. The difference now is that they've started doing dmi's face to face.

Is MMI Just done on paper or face to face also?

my apologies, just thought a MMI was when you're asked 6 or more multiple question and you would have write answers down and then go on to the DMI on a later date for the actual face to face interview. sorry for my ignorance

MMI you do have to write answers to 6 questions. You then go into an interview and get grilled over those answers as part of the process.

The DMI follows as what you'd think of as an old-fashioned job interview

No thats the mmi, you write down answers then they quiz you on them, then you do the dmi at a separate time
