'Steam infrastructure' still in use on the main line?

What 'Steam infrastructure' is there that still sees use on the main line by Steam locos. This includes, but isn't limited to, water towers, coaling facilities and turntables. I know Perth recently lost it's turntable which saw use by Flying Scotsman, Evening Star and Green Arrow.

There is still a water tower at Battersby station on the Whitby line. I also think there might be a turntable near Scarborough station, but I'm not sure on that.

Water tower at Appleby if I remember correctly, most steam locos if turned at all, get so through a triangular junction, I can't recall any remaining mainline turntables.

The column at Battersby is non - operational. If anyone knows the location of the shut off valve, then please get in touch!

Otherwise, 95% of the network is built on Victorian infrastructure!

There's a turntable in place at Fort William, for the Jacobite. Coal gets put on in Fort William depot.

The turntable is still at Scarborough - indeed the recent track alterations have been made so that it remains in use for the York-Scarborough steam trains and other specials with minimum interference with service trains.

Does this imply they also have a water supply available to top-up the locos?

There are turntables at Heaton depot and Neville Hill. The one at Heaton is regularly used for turning steam locos on charters.

Surely there can't be many remaining active water towers on the main line? Most steam charters that I've been aware of have been refilled from road tankers.

There's the well-used turntable (for the Dorset Coast Express and other trains that go down there) at Yeovil Junction, certainly.

The turntable at Ferme Park is still intact, very useful for when steam specials head to Kings Cross and they need to turn the loco.

It's not been used in years. In situ, but not serviceable. I'm not even sure if it's steam era. It's principle use was for turning coaches.

I've a feeling that the turntable at Scarboro' was installed in the 80's for the regular summer specials.

IIRC, it's the same one brought all the way up from Marylebone. They really ought to put one in at Mallaig as well, there seems to be room south east of the station for a 60-footer.

They were going to put one in at Mallaig about 5 years ago, but - surprise surprise - there was some sort of a row about the fees to use it...

Just passed the water tower at Hexham station - but looking rather sad and un-cared for.

The magnificent water tower at Newcastle Station is certainly still there - image here - and equally uncared for. There's another in Newcastle in the long abandoned western yards (now a car park).

There is a turn at Darlington, just to the south of the station. I have never noticed this before. I assume it is no longer functional looking at the image.

Indeed, in the middle of what was once the roundhouse shed until it was demolished in 1988. It's last use was probably some time prior to that! Didn't the Thornaby turntable get installed on a preserved railway somewhere?

The turntable at Scarborough was installed in the 70s and, yes, there are watering facilities there fed from a water tank.
Prior to the installation locos had to turn on the Filey Holiday Camp triangle between Filey and Hunmanby.
If you are looking for modern steam infrastructure, don't forget the new water column that WCRC has installed this year adjacent to the up goods loop at Hellifield.

Didnt the Thornaby turntable spend a long time in the car park at Tysley waiting to be installed at Stratford? I did hear that its slightly too large for the space behind a supermarket near Stratford station?

A wee anecdote for ya!
I had a signal track circuit failure today between the Network Rail and London Underground interfaces at Putney, twas LU's failure causing a NR signal to fail to clear.
Anyways, during the incident the NR signaller happened to mention that his equipment was ancient. That was until it was said that ours is from 1920-1960, we don't have train number displays (just a diagram of track circuit states) and lack the availability of the numbers 8 and 9!

There's what looks like a water tower at the Reading West Triangle/Maintenance depot.

Not entirely sure on the accuracy, but sure I once read that the clock tower of the Balmoral (North British) Hotel in Edinburgh holds a water tower that served/services Waverley.

Still have the Water tower on the WCML at south of Castlethorpe that used to supply water to the troughs there. Bit different to the rest of the WCML infrastucture. Oh & theres still one at Rugby on the upside.
