Which station platforms would you add additional facilities to?

I'd like a rain shelter on the Shrewsbury-bound platform of Telford Central, like on the Wolverhampton-bound platform. I wouldn't have though it would be that expensive. Mind you, some of the roofs on the new footbridge were value-engineered out at a late stage, so who knows.

During heavy rain passengers tend to cluster under the footbridge rather than use the whole length of the platform. Combined with the slow loading and unloading of the 158s, this can make the dwell time in Telford quite long.

I dont know where it could realistically go but a mini pub on Lancaster Station would be nice! The one on Preston platform 4 is about as soulless as it gets.

Harringay Green Lanes must have be one of the meanest stations there is for the amount of passengers using it. Has slimline shleters not even proper bus shelters which really provide no protection.

A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England
Every station - train or bus - needs more seating. Transport authorities seem to abhor the idea of passengers sitting down

And stockport needs toilets on platform zero or in the concourse.
Regarding the "bus" part of your posting above, Stockport MBC have confirmed the new temporary bus station near to the site of the existing bus station will be opened for use on Sunday, 29th August. This will allow the site of the existing bus station to be available for the works to commence on constructing the new bus station.

Platform six at Bushey needs a gate and ramp direct from the car park with an oyster validator. It would provide step free access toward London too. And if we ever get back to pre Covid loading platform 6 needs a bit more shelter from the rain. Surely someone can invent a (millennium dome type material), stretch tent roofing system for platforms?

My local station Hatfield needs a second entrance off the northbound platform. This would instantly put a large number of homes 5 mins closer to the station, increasing use. Now if that entrance also had a secure supervised cycle parking and servicing shop, that would be perfect.
I 100% agree with this. Not just to a large number of homes but essentially 3/4 of all homes in Hatfield to be honest! The current entrance isolates the station from the town centre. Another entrance wouldn't solve this problem entirely as walking/cycling/bus links to the centre are poor to say the least, but it would make using the station ever so slightly more convenient.

Charlton station needs more Oyster readers. It's ridiculous how much on a matchday, it slows down people exiting and entering the station, due to there only being 2 Oyster readers on each side

A footbridge or access from the eastern end at Bramley (W Yorks) - it’s a hell of a walk to the westbound platform from anywhere.

I’d also add a central platform to Armley Canal Rd and stairs down from the old ticket office. This would also need trains to stop there. :)

Inverness platform 6 could do with a display advertising the Far North and Kyle lines in the bay (see Carlisle and Leeds ends of the S&C, Tyne Valley, and Bentham lines).

Still not there ! () - case was argued for before 2012 .......annoyed to say the least.
Nope worst provision of any of the main line platforms for the passengers who have probably paid the most for their journey and/or have the longest to wait (up to an hour) and look enviously at those on plat 8 with their pretty much all day frequency of 10+ trains per hour and almost full length canopy! It’s especially problematic in wet weather as people understandably gather on the stairways to stay dry. The only good thing you can say is that at least Westfield provides plenty of choice for eating/drinking establishments, (for those willing to leave the environs of the station), when it’s open. Ironic too that senior GA and Network Rail management can look down on this from their lofty offices overlooking the station.

To quote a much loved (Welsh) based Ealing Comedy - "a scandal and an outrage" - must be some way of getting this dealt with. In fact , I think I know who to have a look at it. (I did think the message was put across strongly enough at the time)

I do wonder if the fact that it is operated by TfL might have something to do lack of impetus is sorting the main line plats out, that and the fact a ‘masterplan’ to comprehensively upgrade the station is being considered supposedly. An extra main line platform would help performance considerably, whilst the current plan works when everything is Right Time any minor delays can snowball especially with freights off the NLL. Though again any chance of that happening is slim especially with the only vacant land between plats 10A and 11 earmarked for a Las Vegas style venue complete with retina blinding huge spherical LED construction located just to blind any passing drivers and bathe waiting passengers in an almost radioactive glow!

A paint brush to apply red oxide primer and fresh coat of paint to all those rusty platform benches out there. Who wants to sit on a perforated sheet of rust?

Had a journey along the Oxfordshire Cherwell Valley line recently, almost every station had rusty benches, even Kings Sutton (Chiltern Rlys).

Not to hijack this thread for my own personal gain, but I'd be interested to hear comments about stations on the route between Stalybridge and Leeds.

Huddersfield needs gun-towers, with snipers armed with paintball guns to fire at anyone who thinks the "keep left" signs don't apply to them.

For practice, they can fire them at whoever decided to switch to right-side walking during the pandemic... only to switch back to left-side walking (the correct way) a week or so ago.
That was an unfortunate switch during the pandemic which was necessitated by the gateline and the fact that you have to double back. Soz.
