Don't think I've ever seen so much of the network shut at once. Sunday especially. That'll be fun for anyone attending Remebrance services that would have travelled by Underground or Overground. If it was the London Connections map, there'd be a fair bit more lit up, especially south of the river.

I relaise work has to be done- but occasionally the overall planning of when it takes place perhaps leaves something to be desired...

At least the Met line to uxbridge is open. I hate it when that and the Picc line are both closed, it really disrupts my commute to work.

Doesn't look so bad to me.

The worst planning is when two adjacent lines are shut - e.g. the Northern Barnet branch and the Piccadilly to Cockfosters, or the Victoria to Walthamstow and the Piccadilly - you have to travel for like an hour to the next nearest tube!

Or, for those of us on NXEA (West Anglia) - No Victoria line from Tottenham Hale, Seven Sisters, or Walthamstow Central, and no Metropolitan, Circle or Hammersmith Lines from Liverpool Street..

I've got to get the tube from Finsbury Park to Tottenham Hale everyday for the foreseeable future. The replacement bus yesterday was fine. It didn't take too long and they seem to be running very frequently. I'll see how it goes today.

This is, without doubt, the most powerful and stirring day in the national calendar.

All of which made it even more baffling that Transport for London should decide to shut down most of the Underground lines covering yesterday’s event, including the wheelchair-friendly Jubilee Line which services Westminster itself.

A spokesman insisted ‘vital weekend work’ had to be performed on the network. This same ‘vital work’ was suspended two Sundays earlier to cater for those attending an American football match at Wembley.

The spokesman was unable to explain why the San Francisco 49ers v the Denver Broncos justified re-opening the Jubilee Line whereas Remembrance Sunday did not.

Good point, well made. I don't usually approve of the Daily Mail, but hey.

Why was a match between two American teams even happening in London anyway? Seems a bit random really...

they have done it for the last couple of years now - to sell gridiron in the UK more.

The tube was murder on the saturday - had to get from hackney to victoria. Let a couple of ones go past that were not stopping at embankment on the bakerloo due to over crowding and got there with a wimbledon service 1 min away!! great i thought. until they made it pass through and evacuated the station. was properly rammed.

didnt helo leaving either as loads of people just stood around not understanding what was being said over the tannoy. Ended up walking to vic.
