GE Graffiti - Some good news

It gave me great pleasure to read these newspaper articles this week.

ASLEF Journal (November 2010) reports a man from the Southend area has been jailed for a year for causing an estimated £45k worth of damage to NXEA rolling stock with the WEAR tag.

Norwich Evening News (13/11/2010) reports three men aged 22, 24 & 39 have been arrested for graffiti around the railways in Norwich after being caught last Wednesday. Hopefully these are the muppets who use the tags/attacks using SHOOK, QUIR, PEG or ATS to blight trains & infrastructure with what they appauling call art. Another satisfying point is the 39 year old (who you'd have thought would've grown up by now) is also being prosecuted for being in possesion of a class A drug .

Forget imprisonment, castrate them so they can't produce more scum.

Just let pest control deal with them in the same way that they deal with all other vermin. That would solve most of the problem (although this problem will probably never disappear completely).

the three men did indeed write the 3 tags ,QUIR,SHOOK,ANOYS, i think this is disgusting i saw a 90 010 with a tag.(SNAZ) on the front !!

every where i go i see quir in london manchester bristol newcastle and the least amount of damage has been caused in norwich belive it or not .it makes me fell ill the damage looks disgusting and it not alway able to clean it off

Wonder if the graffiti artists caught were the ones chased off Crown Point depot several weeks ago. They scarpered quite quickly but I suppose when you've got a load of rail staff charging at you with brake sticks and other such tools you would!. One made a bad attempt at jumping the railway boundary fence and ended up going over head first

Unfortunately they left behind all their equipment. Spray cans and a camera..... a camera with photos of the group all standing next to there so called 'works of art'

was there pictures of there faces on the camera i asume it was picked up my a member of staff from the depot?? what about the hidden cameras that have been instaled have that not picked up a image of the graffiti vandal's face's yet how close were you to catching them? shouls have beat them with the break stick .
i remeber hearing a story that at crown point there was a site manager called (WAYNE) that caught 3 vandals in the depot last year had a crowbar to ther head the vandals payed him of £100 and he let them go!! but that may well be a rumor !! if you ask me crown point has alot of bent staff !

Or you could do exactly the same stuff to literally everything they own, but than they would have a diffrent point of view, but they'll still find it acceptable to do vandalism to everyone elses stuff.

I also think they'll either get a pointless sentance or a pointless fine and learn nothing from it.

Personally I would make them pay for the people who have to clean the trains, I would make them pay for the equipment and stuff needed to clean the trains, compensation for the TOC, and pay court costs, and so on...

I'd let natural selection take it's course... Eventually they will learn there lesson.

Alternatively, anyone who gets convicted of an offence looses there entitlement to benefits - then they might end up getting a job !
