Hi Tommy, welcome to the forum. Please can you provide some more information such as date of travel and train opeating company? I've had a quick look and cannot find an 1810 departure so more info would be appreciated.

I presume you mean the 18:12 departure? There are a few comments on this thread about transpennine first class. As far as I know you'll get more comfortable seats and more leg room than in standard. There are refreshments, but not meals ie you get biscuits and coffee

As far as I'm aware, Native Americans only have one class of accomodation, so a first class tp is out of the question.

Assuming you mean Transpennine express, then not all that much, bigger seat and power socket. Catering wise you should get complimentary tea/coffee and a biscuit, I've also heard tell that sandwiches are provided on the Scotland transpennine route.

There is no catering after 19:00

That is incorrect railbritain, as all TPE services between Scotland and Manchester convey catering (including complimentary FC items), even on Sundays according to TPE.

I need to try TPE first class at somepoint . So sandwiches on the scottish runs ? Im not too bothered about the food , EC was good because you could pay for food items you wanted.

I have heard that rumour myself but never experienced it first hand. My last couple of journeys it has been declassified between Manchester and Preston and then just drink and a snack (fruit cake very nice) between Preston and Haymarket.

I have advised the passenger will receive catering, between 07:00 and 19:00
That is what FTPE quote
On this service they typically receive one serving typically before Carstairs, and then that is it, there is no catering after Lockerbie

Because TPE apparently provide catering on every Scotland to Manchester service (but not essentially the entire length) , not just services during the day.

i.e. The Friday 20:11 ish Edinburgh to Manchester should have a trolley, because of it being on the Edinburgh route, where as a TPE service between say York and Leeds wouldn't at 20:11 because it's not between Scotland and Manchester.

Do they stop at Carstairs? Wouldn't this involve reversing?

Nah TPE don't stop at Carstairs, with the exception of the 19:56 Edinburgh to Carstairs, which mostly runs to provide a connection into the 20:10 Glasgow to Crewe Super Duper Voyager.

I think Rail Britain is just infering to the aproximate timing of when drinks etc are usually served during the journey.
