During the Roman occupation of Britain, Colchester (known as Camulodunum at the time) was destroyed during a rebellion by the local Iceni tribe in AD 61, led by their queen Boadicea.

The capital of the Iceni tribe was Venta Icenorum (translates as "marketplace of the Iceni") located at the modern-day Norfolk village of Caistor St Edmund.

St Peter's Church, Swainsthorpe, is one of a number of churches that are part of the Tas Valley Team Ministry; one of these is All Saints in the village of Shotesham, South Norfolk.

I hope that this one is okay ....

The local football club for Cheadle is Cheadle Town FC, whose home ground is Park Road Stadium; the club plays in the North West Counties League Division One South. Amongst their opponents are FC Isle of Man; they play at The Bowl, Douglas, Isle of Man.

Thanks ... I thought that it would be okay!

At the west end of Dunfermline High Street is the Category A listed City Chambers, designed by James Campbell Walker and built between 1876 and 1879. Some four years after it's completion, he was also responsible for the design of the Town Hall at Hawick in 1883.

Llanddewi Brefi in Ceredigion also lies on the line of the River Teifi,

We learn that in the 6th century, St. David (Dewi) held at the above-bolded, the Synod of Brefi. Whitby (North Yorkshire) was also the venue of a momentous Synod, in the following century.

Withington in Greater Manchester also has a church that is dedicated to St Cuthbert.

Withington's name comes in part from "withy", from an Anglo-Saxon word meaning "willow branch used for bundling". Withypool, Somerset (on Exmoor) derives its name similarly.

As Exbridge lies on the confluence of the rivers Barle and Exe, so Tewkesbury is where the Avon meets the Severn

Bentley lies on the River Don; which rises near Dunford Bridge, also in South Yorkshire -- in the Peak District.

Hessle is one of a number of locations in Britain which have an adjoining area of some scenic attractiveness known -- one might feel, a bit melodramatically -- as "Little Switzerland" (Hessle's is the Humber Bridge Country Park, an area of old chalk quarries). Another "Little Switzerland" is at Willington in the middle of the Cheshire Plain, 9 miles east of Chester. (Well, parts of Switzerland are low-lying and quietly pretty, rather than mountainously superb.)

Arley Hall was built following it's inheritance by Rowland Eyles Egerton-Warburton DL, who was an English landowner and poet and a member of the Egerton family of Cheshire. He was born on 14th September 1804 at Norley Bank, Norley, Cheshire, and died, aged 87, on 6 December 1891 at Arley Hall.

The actress and music-hall entertainer Tessie O'Shea (1913 -- 1995) -- often billed, rather un-gallantly, as being a substantial lady -- lived for many years in Poulton-le-Fylde; she was born in Cardiff.
