Another very tentative suggestion: the Prince of Wales’ visit to India in 1875?
Definitely broad gauge, so yes to India.
Maybe yes. Looking at the locomotive, I guess this could be one of the 2-4-0 Class 18 locomotives later sold to the Indian Midland Railway. Note the long chimney, not sure about the axle arrangement.
