Out of the stations which have a standard hourly pattern, which one gets the highest passenger numbers?

The one's that I can think of are:

Knutsford: 0.313 million (journeys per annum)
Buxton: 0.301 million
Altrincham: 0.263 million

Peak or off-peak? Some stations have hourly off-peak, with enhanced peak time. For instance, Kings Lynn- 0.747 million (08/09 figures), is hourly off-peak, but approx half-hourly during the peak

Bromley Cross: 0.316m
Berwick-upon-Tweed: 0.471m (services between EC and XC level out at an hourly servive IIRC)
Clitheroe: 0.228m

Braintree also, increases to 40-45 minute frequency in the rush hour.

How do you define "hourly service"?

Dunblane & BofA have an hourly service to Weegieland, but also two service an hour to Edinburgh.

Hourly off-peak is what I meant but extra trains in normal peak hours are acceptable. However, I don't think we should include stations where the first peak time extra leaves it's origin station before 06:30 or where the last one arrives at it's destination after 19:30, so that we're comparing like with like.

Where the station is served by one service which runs with an hourly frequency. Although, if there are any stations which have two services both with 2 hourly frequencies then feel free to include them.

So we're looking for services with one train in each direction off-peak only?

Kings Lynn wins hands down then methinks!

What about Aberdeen and Plymouth? Not standard clockface departures, but sometimes, mostly in Aberdeen's case.

Just found Kelvedon: 799,000!

Braintree (as questioned above by 87015) would probably count then under your rules with 0.910m passengers.

Other busy stations possibly:

Hatfield Peverel - 0.395m
Ingatestone - 0.639m (although hourly during the day, has more frequent services in the evening post 19.30 so might not count)
Clacton on Sea - 0.718m (hourly during day to Liverpool Street however has loads of services in the peaks, on account of the distance services still arrive quite frequently after 19.30 though)

A station that has a train each hour in each direction
One train each hour
They may not always go to the same destination!
Glasgow QS is obvious then, although how you separate the Cumbernauld services out of the total?!?!

Another example is Glasgow Central, how do you separate the Euston services out of the total?
