I think it was at least a week, I kept meaning to take a photo but I never got around to it before they eventually moved it.

A number of roads in the area it could well have been, including the A40 and the A4042. The A40 would make sense, as it forms one of the most suitable routes for large vehicles on the way from Hereford to South Wales. Yes the A465 to Abergavenny and A4042 onwards would make more sense, but I'm pretty sure the bridge just after Pontrilas on the Welsh border has a weight limit on it. Plus there's another bridge in the area which has a modestly significant height restriction. No such bridge on the A49/A40 combination.

A465 also regularly has a large diversion due to construction works on one section so a40 is likely

It pretty much certainly will be, the other end is even worse with a hole cut in it.

That'll be the crew door panel they've chopped out of the fibreglass. At least they're not wasting much by the look of it!

Think there is some crossover of comments between 302 and 333 going on. Could anybody confirm 302’s whereabouts please ?

302 is withdrawn and is at Worksop being stripped of parts. 153333 is at Canton for repairs having been taken there by road due to wheelset problems.

Jeepers that's certainly getting well stripped! I've seen enough evidence to take 153302 off my needs list now :) Best get my NREA out actually and underline 153918 before I forget to do so!

They may have stripped the sides off poor old 302, but I wonder if they took the now standard 153 watering can with them? :lol:

With people removing 153302 from their lists, does this mean that it’s met its fate or is Chorley Cake’s earlier question still valid? Surely it can’t have vanished into thin air!

No idea if it exists in any form, but with that much removed I have no doubt it won't come back. If it does, I'll add it back in and go find it.

The original (now deleted) tik tok video said it was heading to the scrap yard, that was done by the truck driver. No idea which yard though.

Cheers sd0733. Whilst I have no doubt that the end is nigh for this unit and can understand other posters’ rationales for deleting it, there was certainly enough of it left in the last images. That may not be the case now but, if it’s still with us, it would be nice to know its whereabouts.

It was being stripped at Worksop, so it wouldn't surprise me if it went to a more local yard (such as Booths) rather than all the way to Newport.

id agree tfw likely only use sims so often as usually their rolling stock is comparatively close where as this train would be alot more expensive to transport due to distance so a local yard would make most sense

Love them or hate them, they have saved a few TOCs backsides recently, especially TfWs

I notice that on one of Northern's 153's, the door handle to the toilet has been permanently plated over.

I regard this as a positive as it shows a longer term commitment to running 3 carriage services over two carriage ones. They need to be getting all of their 153's ready for longer term use.

Personally, as much as I doubt it'll happen, I think it'd be a good idea for Northern to take on the PRM complaint 153s which TfW Rail aren't keeping.
