Hiya,

Am trying to cost up a journey I will be doing next weekend and as part of it I intend to get a Ramsgate -> London Weekender ticket (going out Saturday, returning Sunday)

Couple of questions, that I cant see answered on the TOC's site:

- Are railcard discounts available? (if not the ticket is no use sadly :( )

- If they are, how much would it cost?

- Is the ticket valid on HS1?

Thanks :D

Mike

The answer to the 3rd point is a no as well - only valid on the 'Classic' services to London Victoria, Cannon Street, Charing Cross or Blackfriars.

Ah OK, thanks guys!

In that case, here's a new challenge (if a Moderator could update the subject accordingly I'd love them forever :P ) - whats the cheapest way for me to get from Ramsgate -> London on Saturday 13th November (I already have a way of getting London to Bedford) then return from Bedford to Ramsgate the following day? Not bothered about speed on this one, cost is more important :). Not fussed about the journey being 100% rail either if its cheaper!

Hi MikeW.

Avantix gives the following:

RAM-VIC - w/o RC - SWS (Super Off Peak Day Single) £18.50
with RC - £12.20

BDM - RAM - w/o RC - CDS (Cheap Day Single) - £34.90
with RC - £23.05

Both are not valid on HS1.

Hope this helps.

Assuming no Railcard, Off-Peak Return (SVR) Ramsgate - Bedford route Not Valid on HS1 £44.40?

If you have no Railcard, spending £25 on a Network Railcard would save £15.10 on this return journey, so it would cost in if you expect to make at least one other similar journey in the next 12 months.
