Surely they are getting more than nine?

There are over 30 150s between LM and LO, and AFAIK Northern are only getting eight

Yes, my mistake I should have said fifteen in total, they already have 6, but they are yet to recieve the 9 more from LM.

I've heard that many versions of how things will look after the "cascade" that I lose track of exactly who is getting what when everything is finished

It seems fairly likely that LM will retain some Class 150s now and release some Class 153s instead.

It's all a bit academic because the DfT have announced the 5 spare are allocated to a TOC that can use the 125 mph capability...

Well according to Wikipedia, they're going to be transferred back to First Great Western to increase capacity on Thames Valley services*.

Chiltern are to start using class 67-mk3-dvt from December, perhaps 180s would have been an option.

Never, why bother when they can rob WSMR of all their stock ?

And their crews!!

Shame Chiltern did not get the Snow Hill lines franchise, things could have been much better!!!!!!

That would have been a big improvement; the Snow Hill lines have significantly more in common with Chiltern than they do with other LM services

Afuture Bristol to London Marylebone via Foxhall curve and Bicester Spur?

At current prices, an Anytime ticket on that route would cost £65.40 (Anytime return Bristol-Bicester Town £22.70 + Bicester North-London Marylebone £42.70).

The journey once the Evergreen programme permits, would take around 2h5m.

An Anytime return from Bristol to London Paddington costs £159 and takes around 1h44m

The trouble is...

Would people be willing to take a journey that took 21minutes longer even though the it costs £93.60 less?

Honestly ?? Less than a year. I just cannot see how they are making a profit and I think they are haemorrhaging money. Chiltern need loco stock and they have high quality stuff on tap straight away.

A future Bristol to London Marylebone via Foxhall curve and Bicester Spur?

Doubt it, they will have their own self contained part of Oxford station as it is. Defeats the object to start using the FGW/XC side.

Would Chiltern be allowed to maintain the southern portion of the WMSR route? I understand they have permission to run from Birmingham International? Could they do this to supplement CrossCountry's service now theyre all DB?

I thought Brum Int was set down in the up and pick up in the down only. They dont have full station stop rights. Cant see them bothering to be honest.

I didn't think they stopped, it certainly didn't when I was on it in the summer. Maybe you are thinking of Wolverhampton, which is as you suggest?

Nope, they do have the contractural rights to stop at Brum Int, they just choose not to.

Thats interesting, why did they choose not to? The one I was on SB was looped at Intl to allow a pendolino past

Not sure, might duff up the path somewhere else if they do, it would cost it around 3 minutes if it did stop. I'll have a look at the graph if I remember.

The story I head is that they decided not to in case of late running, meaning they can be pathed via Solihull if required.

Could be wrong, but Birmingham International already has an hourly service to Shrewsbury (plus bi-hourly to Wrexham etc), so its not like they'd have that whole market to themselves...
