Morning,is there going to be anymore use for Totton sidings this year for the "W10 Enhancements - Southampton Tunnel" improvments,loads went on last year this time for around 3 months, then it went quiet !.It was nice to see the sidings busy again.

Morning,is there going to be anymore use for Totton sidings this year for the "W10 Enhancements - Southampton Tunnel" improvments,loads went on last year this time for around 3 months, then it went quiet !.It was nice to see the sidings busy again.

The W10 work at Southampton is basically finished.

Early media reports suggested it was originally planned to be half last and half next Christmas, but very early on they changed the plan to a 'single big hit'.

There is Southampton station area resignalling coming up within a couple of years though, that might well involve Totton yard.

There seems to have been some work going on in the brick trackside building on the other side of Junction Road. There have been new metal fences and some sigmalling vans inside the compound.

Soton is having a lot of relay work done at Christmas, so the rumour mill goes anyway. Badly needed as well. You may see the sidings used then. Totton Yard is surprisingly useful even if seldom used.
