Don't really mind personally, as any of the four are advantageous for me.

37685 is required, and if any of 516, 676 or 706 appear it will clear them for a grand.

Perhaps wait until nearer the day in case others are disappointed?

Not having a go or owt but dont believe anything you see posted on a forum, in fact dont have go 100% by what allocations say as at the end of the day anything can happen it could be booked in for 516 and 685 for example but something goes wrong with 516 and 676 is slapped on last minute

I tend to keep off the gen and railtour forums before a tour, more fun finding out on the day

Save your money and do the mini tour off the Yuletide York II on 20th November. Same amount of money, but the 37s go all the way from York to Morpeth via the Blyth & Tyne. Miles better.

hmmm? Not sure about the 20th, gearing up for severe tax increases and wage reductions in the budget from hell in December, that is supposed to save our country so cutting back on my spending in anticipation.

However, generally when I come back from a 37 tour I immiediatly sign up to do another one, based on adrenaline. So ask me on Sunday, and I could well be on it, although personally getting bored of South West / Midlands-North East tours.

I really like these tours 'cos the mini tours always begin at York, which enables me to get a couple of short days out with tractors a year, that don't cause as much aggravation with the wife as a full blown tour. This enables me to store up goodwill for one or two major blowouts a year. Also because my folks live in York I can take the kids over to them for the day, leaving the wife with a day to herself, actually turning bashing into something I can accumulate Brownie points from!

Unfortunately I'm actually in Newcastle that day (planned in advance), so this will probably be the last rail tour of the year, unless I can find something else. Already done the B+T so not too high on the agenda.

As far as I know on the return journey it is booked via the low lines at Northallerton (new one for me), and also will be in the rarely used platform at Saltburn. So two to tick off hopefully.

Not doing this tour as am down south for the 66/73 trip, but according to Sulzer Power.com, it's 37038 + 37601, with (a required!) 47500 doing the minitour.

Quite a good trip, although would have been better if:

1) Had used platform 2 at Saltburn. Not sure why it wasn't, as previous tours have used it.

2) Avoiders at Middlesbrough would have been good.

Too short notice I'm afraid.

This year's railtour programme for me has been characterised by foul ups. I missed the Capital Deltic despite having booked because my sister had her kids in some sort of Catholic indoctrination ceremony (Holy Communion) on the same day. A Saturday mind! I ask you! Was on the CFPS tour to Cambridge when 145 blew up, and now this. Only total success was the MRSI jaunt from Belfast to Tralee and back (and what a stormer that was). I've actually had much more success with getting interest out of service trains this year.
