16651 desperately needed it!!!

doing some 2+2=5 here, but:
Stagecoach are taking route 11 from Preston Bus.
PVR for 11 = 4 buses
Preston Bus only have 4 51 reg Solo's left.
Stagecoach have 11 Darts in Preston (and Fleetwood), with a PVR of 6 apparently (4 on Moor Nook 9, and 2 for 86/89), leaving 5 spare Darts.
Preston were rumoured to lose their 3 remaining Marshalls, but they've stayed, so some of those spares could work the 11 when it transfers over.
that should then mean that if the 4 51 reg Solo's move over to Stagecoach along with route 11, those 4 Solo's could be available for service at Lillyhall, where they're much much needed! seeing as 11 Solo's are needed and there's only 11 of them, and the single Vario is needed for 58, leaving 34079 as the only "minibus" spare, which isn't properly accessible! even if only 2 of them came as extra spares, it'd be better for local bus users! and residents on Moorclose Circular bus routes, and Seaton 47 bus route! i'm pretty sure residents don't appreciate their vehicles being scraped by a B10M trying to get down the roads and around poor corners!

if some of / all of them Solo's did come (just speculation really, but you never know! 2 + 2 could equal 5, just like at Uni of Cumbria 24 + 24 = 36!), then they could in theory withdraw 42025 and 34079, and have 2 extra spare's, making a total of 3 spare minibuses, which with the uselessness of some Solo's, would be greatly beneficial!

Preston.... spares.... have I missed something!
The problem is the lack of minibuses and single deckers and extra PVR increases that Preston has recently had. Remember, there are only 5 MANs and 7 vehicles needed for your peak time 3s (add to that your MANs aint very reliable), so you've lost 2 Darts to that route. Preston also is right on the borderline of minibuses, with only 47494 the only unbranded spare they have so often at least 1-2 Darts/Versa's end up on your 113s/150s. Talking of the Versas, these or an odd Dart will also cover the 84 Versas down for maintenance at Frenchwood. Darts are often used on the new 4C off peak or on a 61 when a decker is needed at College chucking in and out time.
At most I can see 2 Darts going if that to be replaced by Minibuses, to stop having to use Darts on minibus routes. The 11 is likely to be re-timed and also possibly cut down depending, the very least it will be interlinked with service 1.

Info i have from Stagecoach on Preston's PVR's:
Volvo Oly PVR 11, fleeted 9 (2 down)
Trident PVR 13, fleeted 17 (4 spare)
ADL E400 PVR 15, fleeted 15 (right on the nose)
Scania E400 PVR 8, fleeted 9 (1 spare)
Volvo B10M PVR 2, fleeted 2 (right on the nose again)
MAN PVR 5, fleeted 6 (1 spare)
Dennis Dart PVR 6, fleeted 11 (5 spare) {PVR includes 86/89}
Optare Versa PVR 10, fleeted 10
Solo PVR 14, fleeted 18 (4 spare) {PVR now excludes 86/89, still fleeted 47001/2}
Coach PVR 3, fleeted 3.

20901 and 34079 on 47 this morning. 20913 on there now, dunno what it replaced.
20905, 34616 and 17017 on 30 and 31. 22600 is one of the E300's on there.
seemed to be all 4 Scania's on 300. 1010 from Carlisle left at 1020.
20436 and a very noisy 20910 on 600.

52627 on 685. not sure on other slot.
33076 on short 685 again.
33161 on 67 & 68.
42094 on its usual 69.
14202 was on 66's this morning. it worked 91A this morning, but that couldn't be shown on the blinds, due to there only being 2 number blinds on there!
20904 on 94's.
20895 and 20909 been flying around in Carlisle.

another portable ticket machine has been put to use in Carlisle today, in Stagecoach Green Corporate livery. it was "stationed" on Lowther Street, whilst the one in standard Corporate livery was "stationed" at West Tower Street (a.k.a. Market Hall).

Seems very likely that they will be the R reg's from LL then!

Would make sense for CE to get 17019 once its painted if they are still getting one for the 554 :)

Withdrawn

Infirmary Circular 63 still showing as registered.

i'm not sure if its an error on VOSA website, or if they have actually withdrawn it. we'll soon see though!

16733/4 being refurbed because they're staying at Lillyhall? ISTR they were in need of work....

"The Draughty Icecube" 20457 on 556, sounding like it's not far from a gearbox siezure....took much longer than normal changing gear and on serveral occasions while accelerating it came out of gear for a good 20-30 secs before finding the next gear (with associated "clunk" and jerk)

20128 making a return to Kendal on Lancaster's 555. 20131 on 5.
16662 off for a service.
16666/8 and 20463 on LRGS schools.

Not really that exciting, the annex at Workington Bus Station is being resurfaced by Tolsons. :)

FINAL STAGE OF WORKINGTON BUS STATION REVAMP IS UNDER WAY (12th August 2010)
"As well as repairing a timber roof, vacant land beside the bus station is being landscaped." Tarmac? - Landcaped the wrong word then!
- be nice if they rebuilt the walls too

We at Lillyhall keep saying 34079 is rather useless (not just mechanically!!) because it has no wheelchair ramp at the entrance, well it wouldn't be too much trouble if it was really necessary for Stagecoach to stick in a manual fold-away ramp like Stagecoach NE 03, 53 and 54 reg'd MAN 18.220/ALX300 darts have (found in the luggage bay in a box).
At least then 34079 could have its Wheelchair Easy-Access status with pride-ish!

thing is, them ones are delivered like that. they're the same as LL's 34616, and the MANs at Morecambe and Preston. the 2004 Tridents at Preston and Barrow are also like that.
34079 had a flip out one, like the Solo's, but it was crash damaged, and repaired without the ramp. as easy as it would be to just buy a fold our ramp and stick it in the luggage bay, the ramp MUST "fasten securely" to the edge of the bus step when in use, hence the holes in the ones on MAN's, and Carlisle's 34048. 34079 doesn't have these.

both Jonck's on 685.
20924 on short 685.
20895 been the spare bus in City Centre in case one of the buses out in service gets caught up in traffic, so they can keep services running to time :)
20959 on 79 and 179, after one of the 79/179 branded MAN E300's made a disgrace of itself in or near Gretna, and had to be towed in.
a few Citi Darts had been popping into the bus station to get the water treatment, despite it being bloody freezing around today.
20451 was at the bus station this morning, then left with Private Hire on the display.
20904 on 94's.

a Magic Bus Oly was heading away from CE depot early this afternoon, in the direction of the M6. i didn't see who was driving it, or where it actually went to, but it was still wearing full Magic Bus livery, and it wasn't at the bus station or anything when i power walked up to see if it was there!

Yeah, the tarmac was being laid when I went past. No sign on any landscaping!

As for the walls, they'd just get reversed into again. Think that's what happened last time.

Would it be safe to say they will be coming for an existing service if something i've heard today is confirmed...
